Oh no, I'm really sorry to hear that. I don't have any other children yet so I can't compare the hormone drop to postpartum but I have heard that women who m/c are just as likely as women who deliver full term babies to have postpartum depression. Not a fun statistic. I think it's a pretty extreme hormone drop even if you don't give birth, but if Baby G was only six weeks maybe it won't be too bad.

I think it's awful to lose a pregnancy no matter how far along you are (emotionally and not just hormonally), so take it easy this week and spend lots of time with your husband.

Thanks for posting your question - I just miscarried yesterday and was just wondering if the hormone up and down would be something to hit soon. I appreciate the 'warning', as I remember, after having my daughter, how much of a slam it was when the hormones just dropped out of my system. Hit me (and probably my husband to!) like a mack truck. I'm hopeful it won't be that severe with a MC but I will be prepared, given what you're describing. My emotions were already pretty up and down before the MC, so I guess it will be more of the same.

'Baby G' as we called him/her was just 6 weeks old. It is still surprising to me, even though I was still very early on, how sad it is to me/my husband.

I have found it helpful to read the messages everyone posts to realize how many people have experienced a miscarriage. thanks for the encouragement.

Yeah, it's really aggravating when you don't know what's going on with your own body, isn't it? My moodiness and headachiness abruptly stopped on Friday after I posted and now I feel fine again. Weird. I've also noticed that the spotting mainly happens when I shovel snow One more reason to make DH get out there and shovel the driveway!

I was almost 12 weeks when I had my D&C and I'm in my 9th week post D&C and my hormones are still a mess my OB told me on average it takes two months for your hormones to go back to normal but it can take more or less everyone is different. I started my first AF 5 weeks post D&C and seriously my body is going crazy this whole cycle I have no idea what's up. I keep thinking AF is coming then she never shows up I take pregnancy test and it's negative I'm hoping I go back to normal soon I can't handle much more.
