Hey Ladies do not feel bad we are all in the same boat. I am very athletic but due to immediately not being able to breathe well once I get pregnant does not help. I gained 44 lbs and I still have 16 lbs to lose. I struggle with it everyday. I currently am following Weight Watchers. I do cardio 3-4x a week and I also incorporate core, weights and resistance training. I just seem to be losing very slowly now a days. I cry often. I just pray it will be all gone in a year. Oh yeah and the belly still jiggles....alot!

Double wow! I wanna talk to another woman with six kids and pushing 40. Looking at you skinny, young things on your first pregnancy makes me feel old and fat....

Wow. Some of you women are unbelivable... Able to fit into your clothes so soon... Must be nice. With my first I was back to my size in a month. My second it took a few months. Now with my third I don't know. It has been a month and I have 20 pounds to go yet... I gained 43pounds. So I hope I can lose it all. But if you work out and all that you will get to your size. I liked my body better after the kids. They gave me better curves so I looked like a woman. Good Luck...

I too worked out throughout my pregnancy. My tummy was definately jelly after deliver though! I gained about 30 lbs during the pregnancy. I started walking about 1 week pp and jogging at about 4 or 5 weeks. I try to fit in working out when I can. It is definately more difficult though. I am 10 weeks pp now and my lower abs are definately still fluffier though up upper abs are ok. I fit back into my jeans about 6 days pp but they were tight! I still wear the same size now but have to buy "curvy" fit instead of straight. My shirts are still too tight and definately don't look quite as good...but my boobs are also way bigger. I have about 10 lbs more to loose...I am not rushing it though because I am EBF and want to keep my milk up.

My belly was Jelly then flattened out at about 6 weeks...still has jiggle to it (I think) and Im 7 months PP...I think the only thing that got me threw it is the fact that I was so big (gained 43 pounds) that anything less then that felt smaller. You loose it all in time, and its not a big deal. If you were in shape before, you will get there again. There is a picture of my stomach on my page if you want to see it. It really wasnt that hard to get back. I dont really fit into all of my pre preg clothes yet (I can get them on, but they dont look the same) because my hips are still a little wide. But I am confident that in time Ill be alright again ;)

My baby will be 4 months on 13th July. I was very fit beforehand, toned etc. and gained 37 pounds during my pregnancy (I was 117 pounds pre-pregnancy). Belly was very jiggly immediately post-partum - the only up side was that my skin was unbelievably soft - as soft as my baby's in fact! That I'm sure was something to do with the clarins oil I rubbed in everyday to prevent stretch marks! Anyway, I started exercising again 6 weeks post partum (had walked a bit prior to that) I also exercised throughout my pregnany (and with a trainer). I am doing 4-5 days of exercise per week, both cardio and weights and pilates once per week (using the Tupler technique). Well, you would have thought I would look pretty good by now! Not so, I don't look bad but I still have a jiggly tummy with no muscle definition in my abs at all I'm afraid. Sad really. I continue to work at it though. I am no where near getting into my pre-preg clothes (only the ones that were huge to start with and even then those are tight!) Still got 10 pounds to go. The only positive thing I can say is that I've never been so motivated to exercise in my life! The other thing is that my priorities have changed so much after having a baby - I'm not so worried about it as I used to be. My baby makes me so happy, that I've discovered that there are more things to life than striving for that perfect body (which I will never have!) I'm certainly not going to let myself go or anything, I need to exercise to keep myself sane and happy! Despite my body looking the worst that it has done in a long while - I'm actually the happiest I've ever been. That said, I'd love to get rid of these 10 pounds (tee hee!)

I am only 3 weeks pp so I may not be of the most help. I gained 37 pounds during my pregnancy and as of today my stomach looks about 80% back to normal. I think it depends on how tight you were before and your opinion of a little tummy. I can definitly tell that I have a little pooch my relatives swear I look great. I haven't done any exercising since the baby keeps me extremely busy and I was really sore. I am thinking about taking up walking with the stroller this week with my hubby but not any gym stuff until the doc okays it. I might do some light videos as well to test the waters. Anyways good luck....you really will be too busy to worry about it although not too busy to notice. If you were toned before and conscious about it now I don't think you will have a problem returning to normal....did you get any stretch marks?

I don't want to scare you or anything, but my stomach was not a pretty sight after I had my baby. Your skin has been stretched out and as a result your stomach will be like jello afterwards. I think that rate at which your stomach returns to normal varies for different people. I was very fit before pregnancy and had a very flat and toned stomach. I know that after I had my baby mine was very jello like and it hung over my pants. I was freaked out and scared that it would always be like that, but it did start to shrink slowly.
I'm almost 4 months PP and it is only in the past couple of weeks that my stomach has started to flaten itself out. Breastfeeding helps as it shrinks your uterus back to its prepregancy state and abdominal exercises will help too once your doctor says it's okay. My stomach is still not great, but it's getting flatter the more I exercise. Again it is different for everyone and you could be one of the lucky ones whose stomach flattens up quickly. Good luck with your baby!

Don't panic, the more toned you were before and the better shape you kept yourself in during pregnancy, the better off you will be very quickly after having baby! I gained 28 pounds through pregnancy and was at pre-pregnancy weight within 2 weeks of having my baby. It will take a few weeks to bounce back to toned, but it will happen. By 4 weeks I had my normal, flat stomach back and by 6-8 it seemed to show muscle, but by 5 days post-partum, I was in my normal jeans. I was taking walks and breastfeeding. Whatever you do...listen to your doctors about starting back to exercise. You may feel great, but your body needs time to heal the inside. Congrats you are almost there!

I am 39 weeks and 1 day, and I cannot wait to have this baby! But, I also cannot stop obsessing about what my body will look like after delivery, my stomach in particular, which used to be flat and toned. I have heard from a couple of people that their belly was like a bag of jello for weeks, yet others swear they saw their abs in like 10 days. For those who have had their babies, can you describe what your stomach looked like/felt like right after delivery, and how long it stayed that way? AND what you did to speed the process of getting back to normal? (And then you can scold me for being too vain!) Thanks!
