It sounds as if your personal trainer is talking about food combining principles. You should always be careful when taking nutrition advise from trainers especially if they sell supplemental powders, drinks, vitamin/minerals because many times it is part of the sales pitch which they put in the form of "education" in order to get you to purchase their products.

The bood "Fit for Life" is one of the biggest sources for many trainers information in this area. Most Dieitians and those that study nutrition and metabolism would tell you that most of the theories totally disagree with our knowledge of physiology and nutrition.

So, enjoy your melon and be careful about taking nutrition information from anyone that is not a nutrition professional by credentials or field of study.

As parents you establish the teaching, training and expectations for your child in the first 7 years of their life. After that you live out what you set up.

Hello,
I am 13 months post-partum and still working hard on my post-partum belly. I eat tons and tons of fiber - including a whole cantaloupe each night after dinner (guilty as charged!). A personal trainer just cautioned me that eating melon with other foods is not good for your digestive system b/c it delays the digestion of everything else that was eaten prior to the cantaloupe. I delivered via an emergency c-section and I have diastasis. I do feel that my digestion has been negatively impacted since I gave birth. So, my questions are (1) is it true that melons should be eaten alone or else it can lead to delayed digestion; (2) is it common to have digestion problems after a c-section and/or because of diastasis; (3) is there anything I can or should be doing to help this problem, such as taking digestive enzymes? I would greatly appreciate any help that you can offer!!! Thank you so much!!!
