With DD #1, I gained 85 lbs and my stomach looked TERRIBLE. I eventually lost all the weight and regained abs, but that little wrinkly spot was still there 9 mths postpartum and up until now (I'm pregnant again though). I am currently thinking about a mini-tummy tuck! I am also in my early twenties, and I was twenty when I had DD, but my belly was just so big, the skin stretched beyond repair. It does get better with time and it fades, but I feel for you, I just want my 23-yr old body back :(

I also have the hanging wrinkly belly, and have been really worried about it not going back to normal...although I'm only 2 months pp. I use a collagen and vitamin E cream on my tummy everyday and hope for the best!

mmmmmmm.
preperation H is supposed to do what, exactly??
(ps loose skin does take awhile I agree with the 9mos suggestion and there are foods and supplemts that support healthy skin that you could ask your caregiver about)

I am 6months PP I 10lbs over my pre preg weight of 98lbs. I am a tiny girl so that weight suits my frame. I had a mini tummy tuck after my first 2 children about 8months before I got pregnant the 3rd time. My tummy was very lose & wrinkly pre surg. after this baby I have some wrinkling & sagging. My best friends mother suggested using Preparation H not the traditional use but it dose zip it up for a quick fix It's not permanent but before going out for a date night or out to the pool it's great & I think the continued use has firmed my belly up a bit! I also apply it before I do my pilaties work out. And it comes in an odorless formula. It's cheaper than a tummy tuck!!! LOL

Carrie you made me smile with your post... It's always good to look at those bodily changes with a little humor-thanks for that funny parting sentence! Cathy

I agree with the others. My tummy was a mess and I was so sure it was over and I needed surgury to repair what 5 pregnancies had done.
Not so. It changed more then I could imagine. I have better abs today then I did at 24.
Now the boobs...sigh..they is another story.

Three months isn't enough time for your abdominal skin to tighten back up, so put off thoughts of a tummy tuck for at least a year postpartum! For most women, their tummy skin will tighten back up during that time. It can help to apply certain topicals to help the skin rebuild collagen, such as vitamin C topical solutions and Retin-A, but you need to wait until you're not breastfeeding to use the Retin-A. Also, a diet rich in fruits, vegetables and high quality carbs and protein will help supply the nutrients your body needs for healthy skin. Cathy

I'm 3 months PP and my stomach still looks like an old persons skin! has anyone tried anything other than a tummy tuck that makes that go away? I figured, being 22 that any stretch marks would go away on their own, which of course they didn't... but nobody told me about extra skin! every other website i've been to says the only thing that will fix the extra skin is a tummy tuck. There has to be something else that will tighten the skin back up right? It's not liek it's hanging down like what happens to people who loose 100+lbs. it's just fat and wrinkly. I can take care of the fat on my own, thats not a problem. anyone have any suggestions??
