i read on the thingy that you attach to your bike that the reason they should be about 1 yr is so they can hold their heads up while also holding up the weight of the helmet.

I've got a Cheetah Chariot (hence the name chariot runner). They are pricey but well worth the investment. I think the general recommendation is to wait until the baby is 1 year before taking them on a bike ride. I can't remember exactly why but I think it might be because they should be wearing helmets and most helmets don't fit until around a year. You can take them running though so that might be a nice substitute in the meantime.

We put our 5 month old in the bike trailor strapped into his car seat with the seat strapped to the cart. Takes a little monkeying to get the placement just right initially but after you get everything figured out you are good to go.

I want to go bike riding with my family but we have our infant son and he's still too small for the little ride along thing. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to take a 5 month old bike riding or am I grounded to walking for a while?
