Hahaha!

My husband doesn't think kids should be watching things like that.. but I think it's pretty natural!

My mum tells me that when she was a little girl - she grew up on a farm in the middle of nowhere - and the midwife used to come to delivery her mother's babies (she had 15 in all) that they used to watch through a crack in the door.. no big deal right?

CYNNIEH - it gets much more interesting! The only problem is that sometimes I laugh, not AT her just at some of the things she says, and I feel bad because she looks upset that I laughed when she thought she was saying something completely logical. I gotta watch that.

What I learned was the quality of continual reinvention.

I believe that one defines oneself by reinvention. To not be like your parents. To not be like your friends. To be yourself. To cut yourself out of stone.

Haha...thats cute. When I showed my two girls a birth video to prepare them for our homebirth with their soon to be sister (this was three years ago) my middle child, 4 at the time, sees the baby coming out and yells "THE BABY COMES OUT OF YOUR BUM?!?!?!!" and then proceeds to say she never wants to have a baby cause it looks like it hurts a lot. lol

Thank you, I loved reading that!!!
My sweet Zayda is 15 months old and we just started having little conversations consisting of "hi" "how ya doin?" "doing good/doing fine/doing all right", which I love, so I can't wait to hear what the conversations will be! :)

Kids are so funny. Things just come out of nowhere. You try not to laugh cause they are being serious but it is just funny. My 5 year old still does things like that. But I love having our little conversations.

Me to Lily: 'You know when you were in my tummy, you used to get hiccups, and it felt really funny'.

Lily to me: 'Did you say to daddy, 'Doug, Lily has hiccups and it feels funny?'

Me to Lily: 'Yes I did Lily - clever girl.'

Lily to me: 'Mummy, when you had me in the big blue slide (meaning pool) and I came out your bum did it hurt?'

Me to Lily (trying so hard not to laugh): 'Not too much my sweet. After all you were a tiny little thing.'

Lily to Me: 'Oh I'm glad it didn't hurt you'.

-------

This conversation came literally out of nowhere. We were driving in the car, talking and singing and I haven't shown her birthing videos since before Kate was born. I have never explained, aside from those videos, what happens in childbirth.

Kids are pretty switched-on!
