I've been wearing pantyliners since getting home from the hospital. I'll go a day or two with no spotting, then having enough spotting for a pantyliner. I'm 4.5wks postpartum at the moment.

I'm there too, Jill. It's more of a nuisance than anything else. I can't wait till I can go to bed at night without needing underwear and pads. :-P

Anyone still bleeding? I had my c-section on June 17th. The main bleeding lasted about 11 days, then stopped for 5, then spiked once again and quickly dwindled to a faint pinkish now everytime I go to the bathroom. It's very faint...but I'm just wondering if anyone else is noticing this a MONTH after delivery.

Thanks!
Jill

Alicia, our two Jake's were born 6hrs apart.

I was talking with my doctor about the whole infection/healing process I'm now having to go through. She did mention my possibly needing some cosmetic tinkering done if the incision starts healing badly. She saying how one side could be higher than the other. I said the same thing happened with the incision for my tailbone surgery. One side was raised and finally evened out over time.

I had a c-section on the same day as you, Karen, and am dealing with the same thing. I was planning to ask my ob/gyn about it at my 6-week visit.

I had a c-section on the 17th...so I'm right where you are. I read that it takes 4-6 weeks for the uterus to completely get back to it's origonal size...so it should be soon. I'm told wearing a girdle can quicken the process...but who wants to be uncomfortable all the time! Other than that, I'm sure the muscles are loose too...hopefully they'll snap back when we can work out!

My scar is still "puffy." It has been over two years. It is annoying to feel and look at but I have adjusted. But I am also overweight and that may be part of the reason its like that.

I'd say it's more from your belly having been stretched out with the pregnancy. I've lost all of my pregnancy weight but my stomach muscles are still shot and will be until I can workout.

My belly overhang never disappeared from the c-section I had with Colin before I got pregnant with Jake. It was getting smaller with my working out so it will go down. I can't tell you if yours will disappear entirely.

From my understanding, your uterus shrinks back fairly quickly. It's why they constantly check you in the hospital to make sure it is going down.

I had a c-section on the 16 of June - (a month ago) and I am either still swollen or have some excess skin that is slightly hanging over my c/s scar.

How long does it take for the swelling to go down or how long does it take for one's uterus to go back to normal?

I just want to know... I never had asked the doctor about the swelling and shrinking of uterus.

Oh yeah, I am breastfeeding, so I thought that would have shrunken my uterus back by now - maybe all is back to normal and I just need to loose the extra skin/fat. EKKK! : )

Thanks for your help!
