Hi thank you for your answers, I called my doctor because later in the morning I started feeling real dizzy and my nose started bleeding, so I got all scared, my blood preassure was 90/50, I didnt have a real breakfast yesterday morning just a bannana milkshake so he recommend to rest and eat a big meal, and if the cramps were regular I should go to the ER, but I did eat and rest a little and Im doing great today!!!

I had really bad cramps a few weeks ago and it turned out to be a UTI so I would be careful and get it checked out because if you don't it could lead to preterm labor.

MOM2LYSSA - Thanks for posting that. I thought it may just be the weight and size of the baby now. I think if it is preterm labour, the cramps would stay, probably not come and go. Also, there would be other signs such as water leakage or loss of the mucus plug. Thanks for asking though. It can be worrisome with the first baby since we don't know what to expect.

Debbie and others - My Dr's office finally returned my call and after listening to my description said it sound like the ligaments on both sides of the uterus stretching to accomadate the increase in size - which she said is common at/after 25 weeks. She said though to be sure to distinguish this from pre-term labor, which she said may feel similar, but the contractions are more regular/consistent (in which case she said to come in or go to the ER).

For the ligament pain she recommended a heating pad or one of those belts that lifts up your tummy - which will eliminate some of the pressure on the ligaments.

Hope this helps.

I know I feel strong cramp like pain in my low abdomen when I do anything real physical. Last night while at water aerobics we were doing something that involved using stomach muscles and I started having sharp pains and had to stop. I think I just to make sure I'm not overdoing it and using my stomach muscles too much-which is hard to do. But if you are just getting them without having done anything physical before hand I would definitly call your doctor. Better safe then sorry!

My next appointment is March 1st. I was going to wait until then to ask my doctor, but if you do call your doctor, please post what he/she says.

Debbie - I've been having the same type of cramps. I was going to call my Dr. and ask what they might be just in case.

I started getting cramps as well that feel like menstral cramps. They seem to come and go. They never get as strong as the cramps I get during my period, but it feels like the cramps I get right when I am about to start my period. I was wondering too if this is normal?

They could be braxton hicks but I would monitor them, if they get consistent and stronger I would call your doctor to make sure.

It's possible they could be braxton hicks contractions. Where are they located?
