thanks ladies for all the encouragement and advice. I think it would be really great if we kept this post going and made it like a support thread for all us trying to fight the battle with weight!!!
I think i've been doing really good the past couple days. I haven't been able to do much as far as exercising. I have cut out soda, and have stopped eating after dinner, and i've increased my water! I'm hoping that just that little bit will at least make me feel better and give me more energy to workout. I found a really great instant tea that gives me the caffeine boost, but without all the calories and sugar like soda. it's the 4C brand green tea and honey. it's really yummy!

I think I have changed my mind totally on chinese food after seeing how many calories are in just one serving of it!!!! I usually order general tso's chicken, and can you believe it has over 2,230? One helping!!!There's no way I can even eat that once a week and expect to lose weight!

I've started doing taking Alli and following the plan they've set up on their website, and it's going great! My only problem is that I LOVE CHINESE FOOD!!! I feel like I have to have it once a week or I will go insane and off my diet. I wish there was some other way to get it out of my life, but I can't forget the telephone number to the take out place!!! Any advice?

You can do it!!! Just like I can do it! I just started a weight loss competition with my friend, and unlike it the past, I am TOTALLY motivated and ready to do it! You can do it! I know you can! As my kids tell Emma, keep your eye on the prize (they crack me up!) I have a Gazelle and an exercise bike, and if I get bored with that, I have countless exercise videos, not to mention the ones I can rent from Blockbuster or the public library! I have tried weight watchers and I feel it is a great program, but it was hard for me to calculate dinners and such that I was making and I didn't always have the time to measure things, so right now I am just eyeballing things with the things I was taught at weight watchers in the past. Also, I just read an article that says if you are trying to lose weight, aim for at least 5 pieces of fruit a day. It's worth a shot, so I'm going for that too! I have trouble finding time to exercise too. I have shows that I like to watch at night, so my new thing is that I don't get to watch my show if I don't do at least 30 minutes on the bike, and hopefully crunches or something afterwards during commercials. It's working so far. There are some days where I am so tired, and I know this is terrible-losing the bad habit of not exercising to gaining a bad habit of drinking coffee, but I sometimes have a cup of coffee to get me going. I read somewhere that the caffeine gives many star athetes the power they need before a big race, so I gave it a try. It's working for me. Ok, enough rambling! Good luck in whatever program you choose! I know you can do it!

You can totally do it! Take all of the other clothes off of the exercise machine, and put the dress on there. Then make a committment to use it for 20 minutes four times a week.
I found that making a small goal like that is easier to keep, and I usually end up staying on for longer than the 20 minutes. And feel better afterwards.
I usually ate better then too, because I didn't want the time I spent exercising to be a bust because I had been eating poorly.
And everything is different for each person, but I did the WW online program and really liked it. It worked for me and I didn't feel like I was depriving myself.
Good luck!

i just started back at the gym. i have to keep remembering my motivations. like not being the fat mom when dd goes to kindergarten. thinking my dh is embarrassed when i visit him at work, not wanting to buy new clothes at my current size. and my sil just had bypass surgery and i will not let her be thinner than me!!!!

I need some encouragement. I really need to lose some weight!!! My hubby's cousin is getting married in December and i have a dress in my closet that i bought before my wedding and never got a chance to wear. It's perfect for a wedding and i tried it on the other day it fits everywhere except i can't zip it from my upper back (boob area) to the top (it goes up to the base of my neck). I love it and i really want to wear it and if i can lose some weight i won't have to get a new one (plus i'll feel really good). I'm just having a hard time getting really motivated and staying that way. I looked over at spark ppl but i don't know if it's really what i'm looking for. What have you guys done to get yourself motivated? I have an exercise machine in my room that is currently being used as a clothes rack!lol and i have a free membership to my school gym, but i just get so tired with school and everything that i totally lose my motivation. I don't know, maybe just letting this all out will get me going because now it's out there that i have to lose some weight! lol. We'll see, so i guess any encouragement would be great! thanks
