jori is right- it is scar tissue, and it will be there long after your uterus has shrunk. i get hard spots above my scar especially when i wear jeans or walk around a lot. just a little irritation that is gone when i lie down for a while.

It's not your uterus - I thought that at first too because that's what they are massaging in the hospital.

What you're feeling now is your body healing itself - it's scar tissue and the white blood cells coming to heal up all your stuff that was stitched or stapled.

I had my c-section on 3/23 and still feel a small lump or two. Totally normal!

Mandy,

Thanks for your last post. That made me feel better about the hard spots in abdomen. I thought hard(ish) spots were not good, but thanks for the info. Congrats on your Easter baby, too! I can't believe you had 2 epidurals, too. Good luck and thank you very much for your support!!

Up until last week I was having crazy pain in my abdomen around my incision but that has since let up. I had my section on the 5th. I still have hard lumps around my incision and some even higher. Don't know what they are but I have heard they are common.

I also am still numb in many areas which I have heard may be permanent and surface touch is a little tender at times above my incision site as well.

Hi JK!
I've been thinking about you. I guess because last weekend we seemed to be having the same symptoms and then I saw your water break on Saturday and got really excited. Mine broke that night and I too have an Easter baby now! I also had a c-section after dialating to 7 cm with 2 epidurals lol. However my placenta did not abrupt. Anyway, I still have a hard time standing up as well but once I am standing I'm ok. And yes still on pain killers. The hard spots you feel is your uterus. It hasn't shrunk yet. The only reason I know this is because every morning the nurse would press hard on my abdomen and finally the last day I asked her why? She said to make sure the uterus is still hard. If it was soft then she said we would need to get worried. I'm feeling better with each day though. My dr. told me the more you move about, the faster you will heal and feel better. Hope that helps some!!

Hi! Brandon joined us on Easter sunday. I had 2 epidurals than an emergency c-section. My placenta ruptured when I was 7 cm. It is a long story, lots of pain, but all ended in pure joy. It is amazing how happy you can be and how much you can love someone, eh?! I can't stop looking at him... I love Brandon so much!

Questions:
My scar is healing well, but I have such bad cramping when I stand up (normal I am sure and not worried), but I have hard spots in abdomen. Is that normal? I am still so sore when I stand and it's been 6 days. I still need the painkillers. Should I still need them. How is everyone else feeling a week after c-section?
