I'm trying everything - I know it's still early for me, but I figured if I can get my cervix good and mushy to start, that labor might come on naturally soon.

Who knows if it really does bring labor. I have been like most other "patiently" waiting mommies and having lots of sex and walking everyday. Yet still no baby. I'm visiting from the march board and there are woman who didnt have sex and didnt walk and they're babies came when expected or early... so I'm like WTH, I've been doing everything right, haven't I? I'm beginning to believe there's nothing we can do to get the littles out (except medical intervention.) Looks like I'll be having an April baby.

That is probably something to talk to your doctor about, for your particular situation. There are a lot of people who are doing a lot of walking right now and having a lot of sex right now to get things going. I try to walk a couple of miles a day and have sex every day to get things going at this point.

I would ask your doctor since we don't know if you are a high risk pregnancy or what. Walking tends to help the baby move into position and semen can help ripen the cervix....37 weeks is considered full term by most but you may have a special reason your doctor wants you to go further.

You can have sex up until your water breaks. Hubby and I have sex almost every day, it never did anything for us in bringing on labor, nor has it done anything for me in my past pregnancies. And as long as the walking is comfortable at the pace you are going, you're fine.

I am already 1-2 cm dilated, 50% effaced with a very soft cervix. Will walking (on a treadmill at a good pace) and sex provoke labor? What should I avoid? Or am I safe to continue?
