Since Katie just started preschool and the twins are considered preemies, I did have her get the flu vax this year. She had never gotten it before then. I didn't get it, though. Probably should have, huh? Hmmm.

All my kids are similar in some ways and different in others. Other than that Katie was the "worst" of the newborns, they all have their moments of crazy fussiness mixed in with totally mellow and happy. I guess time will tell what they really become!

As for vitamins, my pediatrician in Yuma told me to get that stuff. Then I asked the lactation consultant about it and she said some people think those vitamins cause something good that its breastmilk not to be absorbed by the baby (can't remember what that "something" is...). I decided to trust that my breastmilk contains everything that Amelia needs. I take MY vitamins and I think that should be enough, IMO.

Our kids are surprisingly similar! Both are pretty easygoing and laid back (though...comparatively, Charlotte is even more mellow than O was). I am curious to see if this will last :)

We got our flu shots(and the spinal tap warning before we left the hospital!). Because O is asthmatic we have to get it regardless but I didn't mind doing it for Charlotte's sake too!

well we went out the day after Ash was born (and everyday after that)
Personally i think its a bit over the top to tell you to expect him to be on a spinal tap if Mia gets flu, yes theres a good chance he'll get it too, but its not gauranteed, and it doesn't mean he'll get it bad!

How cold is it there?

Happy Birthday Maya!

in regards to the kids- same here- Anika is an energy bar and Maya (who is 1 year today!!!) is dark chocolate filled with cool mint (totally laid back).
Flu vaccine- both kids got it- Anika the mist, Maya the shots (we are traveling, daycare etc. and the flu is certainly nothing to mess with- having said that- I did not get a shot- go figure).
To keep the kid in the house is insane (my opinion-sorry). It drives you all nuts. You know how to take care of a newborn in winter- you've been there.

Anika - 6lbs6oz, 20' (7 days early)

I can 2nd the no 2 kids are the same! My Gavin is like Mia and while Aliyah was a hard baby(cried ALOT) she is very mellow and just chills, will sleep anywhere but doesn't get all crazy if she doesn't get naps. Gav still needs his sleep or he is grumpy.

I didn't give either of my kids vitamins or keep them in the house for long after they were born. I like to be out and both my kids are fine.

Our family is now complete!
Gavin was born Jan 31st 2006 and Aliyah was born Feb 3rd 2008

So Gavin is 2 weeks old, and already, I can tell a personality difference between him and Mia. Gavin is my kicked back, takin it easy, go with the flow kid. Mia is amped up, cant sit still, easily over stimulated...thinking back to mia at this age, is funny because she would never sleep, could not be still, always wanted to move. I can put Gav down and he just chills, even if he is awake, the kid will hang in his pack and play. And he finally "woke up" which i thought was the end of this easiness, but so far he is staying the same. As for the Lady of the house...today she is driving me a little nuts, but expected of an almost 3 year old...last night she cut her finger pretty bad (still not sure on what or how) so thats the topic of discussion.

Oh and i wanted to ask you ladies if any one gave, is giving, has given, infant viatmins at a week old??? My pedi told me gavin needed to be taking trivisol (vitamins A C and D) so i bought them, started them, then about 2-3 days after givng him them, he got really gassy, and would grunt to poop and pass gas. So needless to say, i stopped that real quick. I never gave mia vitamins until she was a year old (or i stopped bf'ing) I am in pa now and was in nc wiht mia, so i wasnt sure if the fact that we cant go outside was the reason for the supplements...

okay, mia is terriorizing the house...we need to get out soon, its only been 3 days home and she is ready to jump out of her skin...but dr said to keep gavin "home" until his next appt, when he is 2 months old!!! Yeah, thats not gonna happen...then they gave me all these stories about how if i dont give mia the flu vaccine that if gav gets sick, he will be in the hospital with a spinal tap! Oh the drs make me crazy.
