I passed out at Target a few weeks ago! I was standing in line and could tell it was coming. I tried to get to a bench, but didn't quite make it! My dr. had me go to the ER. Everything was fine, but my blood sugar was low. My Dr. said that the baby could have been pushing on a blood vessel which caused a lack of blood flow to my heart. Most likely it was just the blood sugar. If it happens again she will send me to a cardiologist! Now I have anxiety issues at stores...

I nearly keeled over today at work. I had been standing in line to get food from our break room. I started feeling a little dizzy and thought it would pass as it usually does. I finally sat down and put my head between my legs due to everything getting so fuzzy, I thought I was going to pass out right there in front of 20 people. I managed to collect myself after a min and went into the restroom where I sat on the floor for several minutes. I broke into a cold sweat, it was terrible, I just kept thinking, I can't pass out, my work does not know I am pregnant and it's going to make such a scene! I drink lots of water, eat good, when I can keep it down. I'm almost 12 weeks, does this pass?

I get a little woozy too...but I think it's mostly anxiety that I've been having for a few months now. That and the increased blood flow have thrown my whole system off. I try to get up slowly (not that I do anything fast anymore) and drink a lot of fluids and that does seem to help.

I get dizzy a lot lately. Mostly if I'm standing and am really warm, or if I'm concentrating on something. I was preparing sweet potatoes for Christmas and peeling the potatoes almost made me pass out cause I was concentrating so hard!! Very weird, I feel like such a wimp.

I have experienced the same dizziness. I drink a ton of water so I know that isn't usually the problem, the doc said to keep healthy snacks handy and to eat a granola bar or something when it happens. Usually it is due to low blood sugar. So, I find that a little snack and some water usually help.

Looks like your three year old will be in the bathroom right along with you. This is the only non-medicational way to beat this thing. Medication is available but after numerous testing to actually show that non-medication measures are NOT working. Going to the restroom every 2 hours is what is required of non-pregnant women. Being pregnant we are naturally going to go more frequently than that. But you should be going at least every 2 hours with clear not yellow urine. This is one of the parts of being pregnant I do not like, Going what seems like every hour!!!! Your 2 Ensure drinks does not count as a clear beverage but it does help in the mineral requirement part.

Natalie, Now is a good time to start doing your breathing exercises throughout the entire day!!! In slowly through your nose until you feel a full breath, then out slowly but faster than inhaling, through the mouth. You will feel a little dizzy at first because of the increased oxygen intake but this passes after a minute or two. You must hydrate with more than just water and follow the directions I had posted before this one. If dizziness or presyncope becomes more of a problem for you try gravitational manuevers such as squeezing your butt cheeks and sitting or lying down on your left side for a bit to force return of blood to your heart. I experience this myself too along with the accelerated heart beating and shortness of breath that seems to come along with it. When I adhere to what I just told you, I feel much better and experience this less often. This advice comes from my cardiology department.

Hydration, Hydration, Hydration!!!!!! with clear, non-caffeinated beverages to the point of clear not yellow urination. Adding a little salt and pottasium to your diet if you are not hypertensive would also help. Sounds like hypotension to me along with all of the JOYS of pregnancy. Get up slowly from whatever position you are in. Take deep breaths whenever possible to oxygenate that increased blood volume. This is not unusual at this or any other stage during pregnancy or outside of pregnancy!!

I can't stand in one place -- like in church. I get really lightheaded and if I push it, I get clammy. I can walk around, but not stand in one place.
