I had my 36 week ultrasound/check up and my baby is head down!!! So I don't think you can tell w/hiccups cause I still feel them up high even though he is head down. I do feel sharp pains in my vagina a lot I think it is because he is knocking on the door.

I am 33 weeks, and finally his head is down. Doctor was becoming a little concerned until last Monday, when I had an ultra sound and found out that all is well!

Our first baby is due January 25, 2006. He's a boy!! He weighs 10oz at 18 weeks, and our favorite name is a family name, Kempton. Picture taken at 27 weeks.

I think my baby turned two days ago. When I used to sit, my boobs would practicly sit on my tummy, and now they are up straight and the tummy is so low, even when I looked in the mirror it looks different and very low. Also, two days ago when I think it happend I had the worst kicks ever.... believe that's when turning was happening. And plus the pressure in lower stomach is bigger then it was before... its harder to walk... not let me mention anything else. I think the baby is coming soon :D

I'm not sure if he is head down or not. The doctor will not be able to tell until Dec 8 or the 19. I don't get anymore ultrasounds so they have to do it by feeling for his head.

How does the doctor tell the baby head is down or not? Does he check internally?

My OB was not able to tell today whether or not the baby is head down, but he said when he goes to do a pelvic exam at my 36 week appt, they may do an ultrasound to double check. :)

See I knew my baby was heads down because I feel the hiccups very low, so I was asking to see if you feel them high or low. If they are low then he is heads down but since you say upper right hand he might still be heads up. Your doctor will be able to confirm that though. My baby hiccups at least twice a day more at night though, I don't think its anything to worry about. Just next time he gets them just pay attention to where they are really concentrate and you will know where the head is.

Yippeeeeeeeeeeee, he is now in position!! I was really worried that his umbilical cord was too short!! Most babies move around quite a bit so you just never know, but my baby has been breech the entire time!! I am so excited that he changed position, and the cord is no longer around his neck!!
Heidi, sorry, everyone is different, sometimes you can feel the position of the baby and can tell where the head is....but sometimes not!!

Is there anyway to tell if your baby is head down w/out having a check up? I think my boy is still head up and head under my ribs for awhile now (I think). I still have acid reflux more than ever so I heard that is one sign that he is still up.
I go in for another ultrasound in 2 weeks which will make me 36 weeks but I would like to know now.
thanks, H

Baby finally went head down in Week 33. I hope he/she stays that way.

Like right now I feel a lot of pressure both down there and up in my ribs as my little one likes to stretch.

Hope he/she stays in the head down anterior position.

I went to the doctor two weeks ago, and he checked me out and said the baby's head is definitely down, and my cervix is soft and thinning out.And he said very sarcastically,I hope you make it to 37 weeks. That really freaked me out, because at that time I was only 33 weeks.Well I hope I make it to 37 weeks or more as well,Im still not fully prepared yet.I start my first birthing class tomorrow, and Im real excited about that!!!!

We're "officially" head down at this point, but have been for a few weeks at least. At the 24 wk u/s the baby was transverse, but for sure the past 3-4 weeks totally head down. I doubt the baby will turn again, though the head isn't actualyl engaged yet.

Last Friday my doctor said my little girl is head down and low (at +2 station). I had no idea what that meant but I looked it up on the internet and that means her head is well below my pelvic bones. I am scared now b/c my last daughter came 4 weeks early. I am really hoping she will stay in until the beginning of January at least. I know it sounds petty, but I don't want her to have a birthday near a holiday. Plus I want to stay home until the beginning of Spring at least and if she comes early I may have to go back to work earlier.

90% of the time she is head down. Sometimes she likes to be transverse.

She like putting those little feet in my ribs and rearranging my organs!

My doctor did not say anything yet, but when she checked the heart rate, she checked on left side of my tummy. Lately I've been feeling lots of kicks on right side so I figured must be the little legs kicking the cr*p out of me.

Hi Sarita58.....

There has been only one time it would have been nice to know if Junior is a boy or girl, and that was when I saw a beautiful Buggy for sale in Pink & Red..!

We are happy to wait and have the surprise on the day, as we already know that Junior has a Cleft Lip & Palate, and we wanted to have something to look forward to....
I get to see him/her every two weeks, as I am carrying lots of extra amniotic fluid due to Junior not swallowing enough.... Each time I have to remind the sonographer that we don't want to know the sex... Luckily though the baby is kinda shy, and has been curled up each time so we wouldn't see anyway...
The extra fluid is also one of the reasons Junior hasn't turned... My Midwife said with such a large pool to swim in, he/she hasn't got uncomfortable enough to need to go head down yet!

Hope all goes well for you tomorrow,

Hazel

My baby's head has been down since atleast 28 weeks, when I had my 3D u/s done. He has stayed that way since.

I don't know yet, but I have an ultrasound tommorow so That is when I'll probley find out, although even if the baby doesn't want to turn then I guess that's fine because I have to have a C- section any way's.

I had my 3D ultrasound this weekend also and she was head down. I think she's been that way for a couple of weeks because I'm also getting kicked in the ribs a lot.

I'm 34 Weeks and I hope the head is down I don't have my vaginal until next week, but I can say that I heel kicks & punches directly in between my breast and in my crotch so where he/she is they are facing up & down.

My 35 week U/S is next week, so I guess I'll find out then... Although I think it is head down, since I keep getting kicked in the ribs! LOL

Thanks Littlegem!!
I just read in your post that you dunno if it's a boy or a girl yet. Is it driving you crazy?? do have names picked out? I didn't want to find out either but my bf would have lost his mind if he didn't know!!! I'm having a boy, I can't wait to ask him what his name is, since we have no idea yet. LOL!!

At our 4D scan on Friday, we were told that baby is lying breech, but across. I'm not too concerned 'cos I've already planned an elective Caesar.

Just thought we could have some fun with a little poll...

At my 30 wk appointment on Sat, the doc said baby is head down already and that he most likely will stay that way. How about you gals?
