So glad to hear everything went well and that both you and baby are doing fine. What a scary thing to happen, especially when pregnant!

Thanks for asking! I went back and had my incision checked again and it's finally getting better. There is still one little spot on the bottom that has a scab but I don't need antibiotics or anything. They scheduled me to go back in six months for a follow-up ultrasound and we're just hoping that it doesn't come back!

I had a check-up yesterday and the mass was definitely benign. I'm feeling pretty good but my incision isn't healing as well as my doctor would like. It's mostly because it's in a bad spot where my bra rubs it so I go back in next week to have it checked again and if it doesn't look better, I'll go on antibiotics. Thanks for your concern for me!

Just checking on you. Hope the pain continues to lessen. When will you have another check-up?

So happy everythig went well!!
Go ahead and take the tylenol. No need to hurt. The stress from that isn't goo for baby either. They gave me tylenol3 to take while pg for headaches, so the over the counter stuff is very okay.

I'm only allowed to take tylenol. I took one yesterday after I got home and ate lunch and it seemed to help. The pain was horrible yesterday but it seems to be a little better today. Luckily, I have a high pain tolerance so I'm trying not to even take any tylenol if I don't have to.

So glad you and baby are okay. :) Is there anything you can take for the pain, or no because of baby?

WOW, that was fast. I just hope it all works out. (hugs) I was wathing a show about breast lumps the other day and they were saying most cysts are benign. They were also saying that now they don't have to do surgry on most with the new 4D ultra soudnd they just drain all the fluid and it never comes back, but they have to get all the fluid for it tonever come back. They showed a lady having it done. You could see the fluid leaving the cyst and nothing but the needle in the end. It was very neat to see. The same show was saying there is no reason they are not doing 4D u/s when we go for a pap because they can SEE inside us beside scrapping off a few cells to be tested. When they use their fingers and feel, that's all find and dandy but it's not the same as seeing. The dr was saying they would catch so many things a lot earlier if they would just us the equipment in the office.

Thanks you guys. I really appreciate you. The reason that they're doing the surgery now is because of the rate that the mass is growing. And I think that the risk to the baby is relatively small because my OB is on board too. I will be awake for the entire procedure so there won't be any drugs getting to the baby. They're just going to numb the area. And it's an outpatient procedure. My surgeon said that the greatest risk is of cutting the milk ducts but that she will try and cut with the direction of the tissue to avoid doing that if she can. And she is the best in my area. She is a breast cancer/surgery specialist. Thanks so much for thinking and praying for me. I do really appreciate it.

Kimberly You poor dear! I'm sooooooo sorry this is going on right now. I do not know f anyone who has had to have a surgery like this while being pg.As for th escar, don't worry about it. It will be giving you and your baby life. Can theynot wait another month? I mean is it double in 3 months I'd be willing to go the othermonth to give baby a more fighting chance. If you don't hav eone yet, make up a living will. That way they have to do what you want if anyting does happen. e madeone up in 2005 for me. It pretty much says they have to leave me on life support until the baby would be far enough along to make it on it's own if anything happened to me. I know thisis a hard time for you and your family. I'm hear if you ever need an ear. ((hugs))

I just have to get this out there and find out if anybody else has gone through this.
About the same time that I found out that I was pregnant, I found a lump in my breast. My OB sent me to a breast cancer specialist immediately and I had two biopsies done. It was diagnosed as a rare benign mass called PASH and they scheduled me for a follow-up ultrasound in three months. I went yesterday and had the ultrasound done and it has doubled in size in the last three months. The cancer doctor called my OB and they decided that it needs to be removed ASAP. I am waiting for a call from the scheduling department to find out when the surgery is. I'm 25 weeks pregnant right now and I think that my biggest fear is something happening to me during the surgery and the baby not being far enough along to make it. I am going to be awake for it all because they don't want to use any anaesthesia because of the baby. Also, they have to make about a four inch cut along the top of the mass and take out a large margin around it so that they can make sure that it all comes out. It's really rare and they don't know much about it so they're just being careful. There's also the possibility that they could cut open the milk ducts, which would require another surgery to fix. Also, with it being so large, they are going to be taking a pretty big chunk out and the shallow part of me doesn't want a big scar and/or a deformed boob, you know? I know that it's better to be having a breast surgery than an abdomenal surgery while pregnant but I'm still freaking out about it.
Has anybody else had to go through anything like this?
