Alyssa is doing her 2 weeks summer programme at the YWCA and she having a Blast ! Her last day will be on Friday.

I hope when he real school opens the end of August. She doesn't give me any trouble. But I'm prepared for it, if she does.

Anyways ladies I'm at work. Take Care.

Since he is the age of 3 with delays, all of his therapy and schooling is free.

Ki-have you looked into a charter pre-school geared towards special needs and or just delayed in your area? I would have never known about the one Aiden goes to if not from his old behavirol therapist.

I called the YWCA and they hav a programme just for pre-schoolers so I'm sending her to that one. The only thing I wished it was sooner. IT would start till 27th July for 2 weeks from 830am to 1130am. But I'll still send her do she can interact with the other children. And it's only a stone throw away from Grandma's house. So Grandma can have a little break in the mornings. She can go shopping or pay some bills. Alyssa really enjoys being around other children. So I think she will have fun. I'm so excited for her. And I have to read at least 2 story books before we go to bed. So she really is doing very well. I'm so proud of myself for being a first time mom. And I think I'm an "AWESOME MOM"

That is really stupid they have to be 4. You should write and suggest them have an up to 3 class as well.

Our libraries have summer story hour only in June and maybe the 1st week in July. But they sdon't start until they are 4. Really sucks that we have NOTHING in town for the little kids all summer. It's all up to us moms.

That is what I have been having to do since Aiden has been out of school. He got out two weeks ago. Unfortunately they were both sick the past 2 weeks so we have been stuck inside. I am trying to find some things to do with them. You should look up to see if your local library has story time. We have it once a week here. I haven't went yet, but am going to try. They have a story time for children with special needs only once a month and that is the one I would ideally like to take my LO to.

LOL Ki

My LO is a monster whether his big brother is here or not. He is tearing through some laundry as I type. The school year is starting later this year than usual so I have to find a lot of things to try to keep not only my oldest entertained, but so that my youngest can get some of his wild energy out too.

For us, I actually think it can be more of a burden than a break from my lo. lol When big j is home, he keeps lil j entertained. Having him gone makes my lo a monster.

I know exactly what you mean. I do enjoy the break in the mornings since she goes in the morning. But I do still miss her when she not around. I think I have gotten so use to having her around. That honestly I do miss her when she's not around. And my little darling wouln't even let me walk her all the way to the door this morning. I felt I little sad about that. She growing up on me. Wow ! still can't believe I have 3 year old daughter. Time surely flys.

Oh I know, KI! He comes home everyday doing something new and saying something new. He just started singing all the ABC's out of nowhere. I am so grateful for his school and teachers especially.

I wasn't sure I wanted my kid in pre-school because I wasn't ready to let go but like aiden's mom... he had to go for special needs.

Best. Decision. Ever!

There are only 4 people in his class, so talk about personal attention!

He has learned so much. I can't believe the stuff he comes home telling me. ...like the art work he always brings home. I say, did you do this today sweetie? He says "No, ms. juicy (real name julie) did" lol

Yeah, that is crazy! Who can pay for that? Aiden's school has an integrated program for 1.5-2.5 year olds that Cameron will be going to starting in August. It is 2 mornings a week so 6 hours a week total and the cost is $20 a week. That is the lowest I have found.

It's very expensive! I found one program that was 2 mornings a week from 9-12 and it was close to 300 bucks a month! They were only there for 6 hours a week!

I was going to say the same thing Jess said. Preschool is expensive if you elect for them to go before 4, unless of course they qualify for it for free for any reason.

There are a ton of preschools around here for 3 year olds. There are even a lot for 2 year olds. Mostly 2 or 3 mornings a week for 2yo and 3-5 days, some half some full, for 3 year olds. And they are *real* preschools, not just daycares that call themselves preschool.

However, Bailee will not be going. She will not go until next year when she can go to VPK for free.

Good luck in finding the right school for your LO!

There's isn't really any schools her for 3 year olds, just Mother's day out type thing with a few churches. So I'm not in this boat yet. Still have a good year to go.

I'll try and do my best. Because she's my one and only and I just love her to death. I still have to go talk to the 2 school and see which one I like. We'll see what happens.

She will love it. Aiden started pre-school last August earlier because he has special needs, but he loves it! It was harder for me to let him go than the other way around. Sometimes he still gets sad for me to go, but I know he has so much fun and is learning so much. Good luck!

My little sweetie pie is now three years old and we're getting ready to go to pre-school in Septmeber. I still haven't decided on which school I want to take her. But I have 2 schools in mind. One is very close to Grandma Pat(boyfriend's mother) and the other school is just 3 minutes walk from her house. I think he's thinking about what's convinent for his mother but I have to think about what's best for Alyssa. She is a very very bright child and I hear this other school is so much better. It's private and yes It costs more but you have to build a strong foundation before you build a house. Don't you agree with me? I will take 2 weeks out of my vacation to take her myself. Usually it rains a lot the first week in September so it's better I take her. I feel so so excited and a little worried too. But that's expected, right?
