Ok, I am soooooooooooo full! Dinner was so good. The oven fried chicken was really nice (would add a bit more flavouring next time) and the corn bread was great!!! I can't believe how easy it is to make. Ben kept asking for "more cornbread, more cornbread!" LOL Also had mashed potatoes, green bens and corn. The peach cobbler was pretty good too (with vanilla ice-cream) but I am totally stuffed I just need to blob on the sofa!

Burp!

Any cornbread leftovers are usually eaten for breakfast with a cup of coffee, and my cornbread is always savoury, with only a couple of tsps of sugar and a cup of creamed corn in it.

Ok so you guys have made me crave cornbread...I'm in the middle of making chicken stew and cornbread. I haven't baked cornbread for a couple of months, I almost forgot what ingredients I needed. Er...almost! Lol.

:-)

any kind of fruit. Peach and apple aremy personal favorites. Cherry cobbler is very Apple-Pie-Americana. :)

Yes you have cornbread and mashed potatoes. It isn't a truly soul food meal unless each dish can clog an artery completely on it's own! LOL

LOL! I will gladly eat everyone's calories for this one meal if that helps!

Do I have cornbread and mashed potatoes? Corn on the cob sounds nice.

Is it peach cobbler or some other fruit?

definitely have to have baked beans with fried chicken, with bacon on top of the beans! Corn on the cob is a great runner up though!

I second the cobbler for dessert. Or banana pudding, that's my all time fave!!!

We'd have it with chili (more like tortila soup for us) or fried chicken. :)

cornbread and milk for breakfast...YUM!
okra stew and cornbread for a very southern meal! Then that what they said! :)
You can also fry small pieces of it to make great croutons.

chili, stew, red beans and rice, anything bar-b-que'd

and it's gotta have butter on it. I usually sprinkle a bit of sugar on top of mine before I bake it to make it sweet.LOL

If it's sweet cornbread, I like it on it's own for breackfast. As for "going with" Stew if perfect!

My friend sent me some cornbread mix as I've never had it before and I was wondering what is traditional to eat with it? I want to make an authentic meal! LOL
