MOMKALBE Technically the baby can't develop an allergy until next year ( hav e to have two seperate exposures first ..whatver!!) Anyhoo..the baby can be sensitive to the cat dander now, esp. if allergies or asthma run in the family. DD had a prob with cats from birth. With the right, controlled exposure she can outgrow it or become de-sensitized before preschool.

Aiden has a raspy sound when he cries and when he is eating because of his inspiratory strider. At the hospital after he was born they thought it was because of the fluid still being in his lungs too. He is doing good.

Is it possible for these little ones to be allergic to animals already? Kylie seems to be congested in the mornings and my cat will sleep on my legs all night right by me and Kylie. I locked her in with my dh tonight. I'm going to be watching and listening tonight.

I remember with my first that using some saline first, then sitting in the bathroom with the door closed and hot shower running would loosen her up a lot. A rapid way to get some humidity into the little body. Then sometimes its easier to suck the goo out... but often you don't even need to bother because the humidity in the bathroom loosens everything up and it just goes away.

I have tried to suck with a nasal aspirator, but nothing comes out, which is why I didn't think it was a nasal congestion, but more in his throat or chest...I am keeping an eye on it, and we go to the docs Monday...in the meantime I think I will go get a humidifier.

Sophia does too. It sounds more nasal than lung related to me though. In the hospital they gave her some saline drops which seemed to help. I have some here at home that I use and I also use a nasal aspirator to suck some of the goo out of her nose. Both work pretty good.

my baby does too, they say it is just because of all the fluid still in their lungs. OR it could be congestion caused by dry heat. Do you have a humidifier?
