The babies are here!! They were born Monday morning at 12:08am and 12:09am. Robbie was born first weighing 5 lbs 15 oz and 20 inches long. Ashley weighed 6 lbs 7 oz and 20 inches long also. They were very big for 35 week preemie twins. Robbie needed fluids, oxygen and had to be under the lamp so he went to the NICU right away. Ashley was perfect and didn't need anything other than the required 24 hrs in the ccn before hse could go to the regular nursery. Amy's been able to nurse her and also pump but they both have to get special preemie formula until they reach what would have been 40 weeks. She's going home tomorrow with Ashley, but Robbie had to get a feeding tube put in today, so he's going to have to stay a while longer. They aren't really sure when he'll be ready to go home, so we have to say special prayers for him. She's so torn having to visit them seperately. Then the thought of having to go home with one and not the other is weighing on her. I told her the good thing about it is she can get used to one baby at home without the nurses there 24 hrs to help her. Then she'll be confident before he comes home since he'll prob need a little more care. Roger will also be used to Ashely so Amy can focus on Robbie.

We are supposed to go there for Thanksgiving this year, but with Abigail still being sick, I'm not sure if we'll be able to. Mom and Susan will still go, but I might have to stay home with Abigail. I can't risk the baby getting sick.

Well my brother in law just called and they're doing the c-section within the next hour. So they will either be born on the 15th or the 16th. Wouldn't it be a hoot if one comes out at 11:58pm on the 15th and the other one not til 12:01am on the 16th. HAHA then they'd technically have 2 different birthdays! Roger's going to call us in the morning and let us know how everything goes. I can't visit at all since I'm still sick. Bummer!

Well she's 35 weeks as of yesterday. They will be born on Nov 18th - only 6 days away... So hard to believe!!

She's miserable as we all were around this time. Even more so since she can't feel her legs. My mom has been going down there every day for a month and a half now to help her while Roger's at work. I'll have them full time sometime in Feb. I'm excited!!

The most recent update is they will do an amnio on Nov 19th to check lung function. If they are strong enough, they will do the c-section later that day. If they aren't, they'll give her the steriod shot and have her come back the day before Thanksgiving. She's hoping they won't be so they can stay in there an extra week. The OB said they are looking great though!

Thank you all for the warm wishes and prayers. I know they help and I know she appreciates them. She is getting HUGE...lol She is feeling good and the high risk OB is confident that she's going to make it to 37 weeks. They are both almost 3 pounds each and her cervex is still closed and hasn't gotten any shorter like it did the last time. So all is well so far except for her failing the 1 hr blood sugar test. So now she has to go for the 3 hr on on Thursday. Man that would stink if she's restriced for the rest of her pregnancy. But then again, GD causes big babies, so that might be good for twins!

Kelly - congrats to your coworker and his wife. How big were they? Did they get to go home with them right away or did they have to stay?
