With my son, I didn't dilate until I was in full on labor (and was 3 days early). With my daughter, I started dilating the 3-4 weeks before my due date and ended up having my daughter 6 days early...I was 2 cm for like 2 weeks, then had my membranes stripped, and went into labor the next day. My midwife says that on second, third, etc children, that your body prepares itself earlier. Hope this helps, and good luck having that baby soon!

I was dilated to a 2 at 36 weeks, a 3 at 37 weeks, and a 4 at 39 weeks when my water finally broke.

I was 2cm for 3 weeks and then 4 cm for a few days then I took castor oil and went into labor that night and had her 3 hours later.

I was dilated to 2 centimeters for about 3 weeks before they induced me. I was also about 70% effaced for 2 weeks.

Just looking for any input from those of you who may know a little about having babies :) I have a 3 year old and one on the way. With my 3 year old, I didn't dialate at all until I was about 5 hrs into labor. This time, I am dialated to a 1 and Im not even in labor yet. I am 38 weeks and they said my cervix is soft. Do you think I will go sooner than later? I know they always say it depends and you could go tomorrow and you could go next week. So maybe I am looking for stories!!Thanks for any input :)
