I'm still NOT inviting any kids. But her cousins are welcomed to come. Because that way if the mess up than their parents will clean up or will get out; no questions asked. And the party has now been moved to my house. And everyone knows me; knows that I don't play about my stuff. Exspecially now that I'm pregnant again. Ms Attitude is back!!!!!!!!!!!

well i can finally add some info here. we had thais's bday party last night. our friends are leaving the country this weekend for 6 months so the night before, we deceided to have a going away bbq and then throw thais's bday party in there as well. i bought 2 cakes, 8 ballons and wrapped presents our families had sent. we made dinner as usual and had 10 adults come over, we played poker till 12:30am, but we did do the whole cake thing and presents after dinner for thais. it worked out great and now it is done and over with, lol! her bday isnt until the 9th, but it was nice to get it done. hope it helps.... oh and being pregnant, i dont think made any bit difference except i was able to eat a smuch cake and cookies as i wanted, without feeling guilty, lol!!!! -heather

First birthdays are really more for the adults anyway.
Not to scare you out of your plans, but I was pregnant during my now 9 year-old's birthday party (last year.) It was a complete NIGHTMARE! I couldn't keep up with anything, and my hormones way too out of control to deal! You may be on to something.

If I were you, I'd just do whatever seems best. There's nothing wrong if she doesn't have other kids at her first birthday. She will get to be the center of attention on her special day and there will be less stress for everyone. Sometimes it's better to keep things small. Lord willing, Shanna will have many birthdays to come, so she'll have plenty of chances to have friends at her parties when it's more her choice. Don't feel guilty for doing what's best for your family.
