mhh.. what I do in this case.. is that I sleep in my kids room until they fall asleep..and go back in their room if the little one cries in the middle of the night! IT is difficult.. but after a period it goes away.

This happened to me after a very bad rain storm.. my little one got so scared that everynight after that night he would wake up screaming! It took about two months to calm him down!

I still go to their room before they go to sleep until they fall asleep... and it helps... he now sleeps through the night! ocasionally he will wake up...

maybe letting her know that you are there.. and nothing happens to you helps! Maybe she is listening to things and she gets worried.. be more "aware" of your conversations around the house.. maybe you chat with friends about your worries.. and for her listening to things are MAJOR!! ??

hopefully she will sleep well soon! kisses

I feel like we've tried everything. We tried the spray...nothing. We tried leaving her door open a bit....still scared. Her daddy even gives her a "vest" to protect her but she still has nghtmares (the vest is invisible...got the idea from the movie Crash). Yesterday she had a nightmare that something happened to me but she couldn't tell me what happened. She was so scared and disoriented! I feel horrible.

have u tried getting her a special toy, etc that will "protect" her - or maybe filled a spray bottle full of "scary spray" (water) that you can spray at scary things to make them not scary

Mady has recently developed a phobia of EVERYTHING!!! She is constantly saying, "Afraid of...." Some things she seems genuinely afraid of like the shadows on her wall, etc. Others, I feel like she's just saying it. I have no idea how to tell if she's really afraid or not though.

And I have no idea how to fix these fears. We try to tell her she's bigger, stronger, smarter, tougher, braver, faster, etc. than whatever it is, but it only partially works. Anyone elses LO's doing this now? Any ideas on how to chase aways the fears? She's also having more and more nightmares lately.
