Finally, On August fourth 2005 we had our beautiful baby girl. Mariam Ann Myette, was born weighing 6 pounds and 11 ounces, and 19.5 inches long. I started to go into labor about 8pm on the 2nd day of August with some really sharp contractions that kept me up most of the night. Then the following morning I called my midwife and she told me to go ahead and head up to TN to the House and make myself and my husband comfortable. Around 5pm the midwife and her assistants came to see how we were doing. At that time they checked and I was 6 cm dilated and the contractions were about 5 min. apart and 45 sec long, this went on for a while. About 8pm they were about to leave for the night and then it hit!! A contraction like I never felt before!! From then on out for the next 8 hours the contractions were 1.5 min long and 30 sec apart and would drop me down to my knees and make me cry, I've had 2 boys and never felt any pain like this before. Moving on to 4 am I was stuck at 9 cm dilated and making no progress. They checked and my water had not yet broke and the baby's' head was stuck on my pelvic bone. 30 min. later after flipping over and over again to help release the head we were finally getting somewhere, finally got her head to the edge. Then we got to see the neatest thing I have ever seen, but was quite painful to get rid of. The water before it was broke. I had to Push my own water out before I could push the baby out. It was very intense but neat to watch in the mirror. Shortly after that came the head, The look on my husbands face when he had to catch the baby was priceless. Then he also got to cut the cord, It was so comforting to have his total support through the whole ordeal. Here it is 2 and a half weeks later and loving every minute of sleep we can get.. Thanks for all the helpful discussions you all have shared here They really helped me get through this without the help of hospitals or drugs.
