I had a natural birth with a dr. (midwives around here cost alot of money) and mine went well, although to be truthful the pain really was alot more than i expected but i had a very fast labour (4hrs in total) so it all went very quick. The only complication we had was the cord being around his neck but the dr. pulled it off before i finished pushing him out. My baby was very alert from the moment he was born, i think it was better for both of us to have had no drugs.

This is gonna be my third child. My first child i was induced because she was geting to big to come out when i delivered her she was 9 1/2lbs. I had an epi because her head was soo big.I also had iv meds with her because of the patosin(cant spell). That sucked i was sleeping between contractions so i had no time to re gain control over my body. With my second child i didnt go to the dr untill my contractions were 3 min apart. I was only in labor 6 hrs with no meds not even an I.V. i ate when i wanted i drank when i wanted and i went to the bathroom because of all the horor stories of poopin on the bed. After i umm lol went i felt him drop i jumped on the table and within 3 min he was born with one push his head almost hit the table his body did because the nurse jumped to catch him. I riped and wow when he sewed me up i felt everything with the first i didnt because he numbed me he did with my second two but it didnt have a chance so kick in. I have no scares from either one and no infections. My son was 7 15. I think if its possible to go natural you know whats best for your body no matter what. Good luck

This is my first, but I am going for the all natural - my mom and my sister did too. My sister had a midwife for her first and really loved the care that she provided - she would even come to her house for check-ups before and after the baby was born. Her labour care was so good - it was a complicated birthm stuck in trasition for hours and if it hadn't been for the midwife the doctors would have pressured my sister into a c-section. As it was, the midwifre went for an epi (to relax the muscle in the hopes that the baby would come through (which he did)
also there is data to show that episiotomies acutally are worse for you than natural tears - they take longer to heal, cause further tearing and are more prone to infection.
anyways, here's to gong natural, scary but good I think
My sisters next two births were complication free natural births

I did!! *raises hand*

I had a really great experience. Of course I was scared and there were times I thought I couldn't do it. But by then it was time to have her. I really think a midwife is a great idea. I had three and spent more time being comforted and expressing my thoughts than being poked and prodded and tested for things that weren't likely to be wrong. In the end, I labored for 24 hours(10 hard, time flew, honestly the on and off sparatic ones were worse because I couldn't predict when to relax), pushed for twenty minutes, no tearing, and NO pain down below. No body believes the last part, but I swear, no pain. Just in my back and shoulders from pushing. The natural birth forum is great for resources. There are varying degrees of what some of us consider natural but the over all consensus is to be educated about choices you make and not be bullied into things that aren't in your best interest. Good luck. I hope I helped!

Hey ladies! This will be my first child and me and my husband are very homeopathic. I want to do this all natural. NO epesiotomy, no epidural, no drugs, and I am also thinking of getting a midwife just because doctors tend to do their own thing rather listen to what you want. Just wanted some feedback on what you guys thought, or if any of you have actually tried it naturally?
