Nate's just doing breasmilk now. I tried some fruits and veggies (homemade) but he got constipated pretty bad, so we're not doing that anymore. Will try again in about a month or so, just don't think it's going to change. hate to see him consripated.

Ahhhh Well Kadi is still satisfied with BM and cereal. She gets cereal once, sometimes twice a day. I'm not in any hurry to give her jarred food, I was just curious. We are just now trying mixed cereal today. She has tried oatmeal and rice and likes them both.

Kadi drinks well out of a sippy but prefers a regular cup. That is how I get her to drink water. hehe

Kadi will be 6 months on Nov 11th. sniff sniff

enen is still exclusive bf. except for the 3 weeks a friend of mine watched him during the day & i swear i think she was slipping him something. she denies it.

my pedi says she likes to wait until 5 months. i think i might go for 6. he was 15lb5oz & 25" at pedi vist on monday. i had the daycare increase his bottles to 4 instead of 3 to make up for what i think he's missing since my friend doesn't watch him. he seems satisfied.

Had a boy on June 19th! Enen Sa Ruti is his name.

i haven't started anything yet. She's still exclusively BF. the only thing she had, and we did so today, was some wter from a cup...it was funny. We're trying to see if she gets the hang of that since she won't take a bottle.

Alison- If he seems satisfied, I wouldn't push it either. SK wasn't and she let us know without a doubt that she wanted food and wanted food NOW!

We haven't started jarred foods yet. Lucas gets two tbsps of rice ceral a day so far. He seems satisified with that so I am not going to push it. From what I have read, breast milk is still the best at this age. I don't think I started Jacob on veggies or fruits until about 6 months. Anyone else not starting yet?

We've had bananas, sweet potatoes, squash and green beans. Green beans were SK's favorite, too.

amy: We're already on it. B was reaching for our dinners and drinks, so the Pedi has him on three jars of food a day.

SK started w/ about a Tbs of cereal once every 3-4 days about a month ago. Now she eats a 1/4 c. at breakfast and lunch and almost a 1/2 c. at supper. I make it pretty thick. More like oatmeal than the consistency of Stage 1 baby food. She likes it better and it's less messy. She also gets 1/3 of a jar of veggies or fruit at breakfast.

You'd think w/ all that food, she'd drink less. But no, she's actually drinking more.

My pediatrician said to start with a teaspoon and mix with Bmilk or formula until consistency is less than toothpaste. i started out with really watery stuff, but keaton still wore more than he ate. I gave up after 2 weeks. i figure when he is ready and has the proper mouth reflex, things will go better.

Can you believe how much you love them?

There are directions on the box of how much to do for the "first feedings" . It even explains how to gradually increase your service sizes. This can be found on boxes of Gerber Rice Cereal, Natures Best Cereals and Beech Nut Cereals.

Hello

I was just wondering how much your babies take in a feeding?
My DS drinks 5 oz at a feeding on average.
Also we started to introduce rice cereal in his diet. But I am not sure how much of that he should be eating

thanks
