I know it sounds weird, but exercising can help with the tiredness too. It doesn't have to be a lot, just a brisk walk can do wonders. And I would check with your doctor before taking more iron than is in your prenatal vitamin. Taking more could keep other nutrients from being absorbed.

Copy that!!! That's how I figured out I was pregnant second time around - tired does not begin to describe the extra exhaustion.

I am taking a specific iron supplement but would suggest you check with the ante-natal vitamins as they probably contain the max amounts per day.

The only thing I have found is working is to actually make time for a nap each day - not easy with a 14 month old too, but the only way I can function without falling asleep at my desk each morning.

Hello everyone. I need some help. I feel so tired all of the time. This is my second child and I was just fine with my son, no sickness what so ever, but now, I can't keep anything down, I'm tired all of the time and I feel like I could sleep all day. My aunt told me that I should take some extra iron. My vitamins have 18mg of iron. Will it be safe to take more? How much iron should I be taking?

EDD 05/09 with second child.
