I'm wondering the same thing. We don't want to TTC till May 2010 so I want to make sure we are safe till then.

I had mine out. I too am part of the ttc after mirena thread. I had removal bleeding about 2 days after it was out. Then I had a regular period around 4 weeks after that that lasted around 3 day but was really light ( i never had a period on mirena) Then I was on a 29 day schedule after that and my periods regulated to about 5 days long I got pregnant the 4th cycle.

I would tell your hubby. Im not a fan about secrets when it comes to stuff like this and if you did concieve and he thought you had your iud then that could cause a sticky mess. Honesty with your spouse is always best. You could make a special occasion out of it. make a nice dinner buy him a card or something and just let him know that you too are finally ready to try.

I thank God for my many blessings in my life without him I have nothing and am noone:)

When raising children the days are long, But the years are short.

There is a mirena thread on the preconception board with some ladies who have taken our iud's out. We all have had different experiences.

My period came like clockwork the last 4 months BEFORE I took it out. After it was a little irregular (35 days, 21 days and then preggo)

I got pregnant on my thrird cycle after taking it out.

DH doesn't know I am getting my IUD removed. I had planned on doing it and then just seeing what happens. He has been wanting to TTC for a while, so I thought if I just take it out, and see what happens we could just both be surprised when/if it happens. But the planner in me, is now wondering, wait I am going to start getting periods again. and it will be obvious. So should I just tell him I am getting it out.

But for those that had Mirena and no period, what happened when you got it removed? did you have a period right away, did it take some time? and when did you concieve or how long has it been with no conception?
