I guess i should have look around on line for the best home testers. Cause I got a confirm clearly tester thinking that it would be easier later on to try again to just buy the replaceable sticks. well i bought the sticks without the tester the first time so i spend about 12 bucks on that so the next day i went and got the tester. so i thought i would wait at least a week after getting the test to see if i would get better results. well i took 3 test n 2 out of the 3 were postive and well i went to see my doc n it was negative. So she like come back in 2 weeks if no period. I hope that confirm clearly is better now. if not i will be ranting about it, cause i have a feeling am pregnant. So rite now its a waiting game to see.

Either they are slow to get the message, or it's possible that since it's a voluntary recall, they are choosing not to remove them from their shelves until their current stock is gone. Awful thought. Hopefully they will be gone soon.

Just an update: approx 2 months after I complained, they found that my issue was still 'unresolved' during an audit. They have offered me a refund; too bad they didn't offer to pay my ER fee when I thought I was m/c'ing (NOTE: I was not. I was just never PG.)
Best news is that they are FINALLY recalling these dumb tests! Excerpt from the email I received:
"We have received a higher than expected rate of consumer complaints regarding false-positive results. The manufacturer has been investigating to determine the cause and has initiated a voluntary withdrawal of this product from the retail market. The regulatory authorities have been advised and all CONFIRM CLEARLY trade customers have been advised of this voluntary withdrawal of this product from the retail market."

After reading all of your posts about getting a false positive, I thought I would go out and buy the CC test just to play a little joke on my hubby. Thinking the whole time on the way to the store about how funny it's going to be to see his face when it comes out positive (even when there isn't a very likely chance of me being prego since I'm on the depo shot). I get home and take both of the test and guess what, they came out negative! Serves me right I guess! lol! Well, needless to say my husband was relieved that I wasn't prego!

After 3 false positives, I sent a nastygram to the company from their website. I included all the box numbers and wrapper humbers. My doctor was shocked that something can give that many false positives, but 2 blood tests and a HcG count later, I am Positively not pregnant. Will see how long it takes them to respond... That's what I get for trying to save money on those things!

Well, I was officially never pregnant, as my blood test came back negative. I sure wish someone (on a medical staff) along the line had even mentioned the possibility of a false positive. When we brought it up at the hospital, they assured us that it was hardly within the realm of possibility. I complained both to my grocery store where I bought it and to the company that makes the test. As un-fun as my experience was, it was really a short amount of time to be in turmoil over it, and as I mentioned, DH and I had hardly been trying. I feel so badly for all the people that have been trying for a long time who may have had their hopes falsely raised by this test. I really hope they pull this product ASAP.
As for me, I'm set to go on the BD for this month in about a week!

Yes, I have saved the box (b/c there were 2 tests included, crap though they are), so I have the Lot# for the box and the second test. Here's the kicker: my DH took the 2nd test in the box, and surprise, surprise, apparently he's PG! Again, I'll know for certain tomorrow when my blood results come, but knowing that I didn't have *any* reliable positive makes me feel a lot better. I did some research online as well, and it just doesn't seem possible that I m/c'd and didn't have any hCG at all in the same day, when many sites mention that you may get a false+ from a m/c as much as a month afterward. Just a lot of carrying on for nothing. That company will definitely be hearing from me.

Oh,Cecily. I'm so sorry. Be sure to contact the Confirm Clearly company (even if you don't still have the packaging). They need to know that this is NOT acceptable. Additionally - tell the pharmacist at the place you bought it. I am telling EVERY store that I go into that I see it on the shelves.
They need to pull these stupid tests.
Oh - FYI - friend of mine - totally preggo got a flipping negative with a CC Test! She knew about all the false +s and thought it would be cool to do it once she knew. She nearly had a heart attack!
STUPID tests.

Update: peeonastick.com has updated their site to reflect the complaints about this test and it is on her not recommended list.
My local walmart also carries this test. When I was there today I spoke with the person in charge of ordering the HPT's. She hadn't heard about the complaints and suggested that we call 1-800-walmart to let them know (basically filing a complaint) so that they can decide whether or not to carry that brand. But for now, if customers ask her about that test she will be letting them know of all the false positives.

IF YOU CHOOSE TO USE THIS PRODUCT, RETAIN ALL YOUR CODES FROM THE BOXES AND WRAPPERS. THE COMPANY IS TRYING TO SAY THAT IT'S A BAD LOT WHEN ACCORDING TO WHAT WE'RE SEEING, MOST OF US ARE FROM DIFFERENT BATCHES. IF THEY DON'T HAVE THE DATA, THEY WILL NEVER PULL THEM FROM THE SHELVES.

As Heather said - DO complain and site your experiment. Eventually with adequate complaints these tests will be pulled.
Sofia - I'm so sorry you had this experience.
As for DH - haven't tested him yet! But I think I'm going to have to.
This is astounding...

Sofia - Go to the website and fill out a complaint. As you can see, they will gladly ship you a reimbursement check because they are very aware that they have a faulty product. I'm so sorry you went through this. I had a similar experience almost 2 weeks ago and it broke my heart. That's part of why I'm trying to keep this thread towards the top of the precon boards so people don't make the same mistake I did. If there's anything I can do to help you, please let me know.

So get this, I e-mailed the company complaining and after ALL the stories you've already heard, this was the response I received.
Heather,
Thank you for contacting SSL regarding your recent experience with the Confirm Clearly pregnancy test. We regret that you were not satisfied with our product.
Confirm Clearly is manufactured to stringent specifications and undergoes rigorous quality control tests prior to release from the factory. It has been demonstrated in the laboratory to be more than 99% accurate at detecting typical pregnancy hCG (a hormone in urine that is produced during pregnancy) levels. However, individual circumstances can differ and no pregnancy test is 100% accurate in detecting pregnancies. It is therefore always recommended that a doctor be consulted in the event of a positive test or, in case of a negative test, if you do not get your period within one week.
SSL understands that this can be an emotional time in your life. To assist us with further review and investigation of your complaint could you please provide us with the lot number on the box and the lot number on any individual foils that you used. We regret any inconvenience which you may have experienced. We will forward a refund to you within the next 7-10 business days.
Regards,
Jerrie M. Loftis Regulatory Affairs Coordinator
Now I'm not sure about YOU ladies, but I didn't want to keep that damned false positive anywhere near me. I threw it and the box out. And I've told him that. We'll see what they have to say about it. I'm so irritated with this company. Yeah, I'm certain it's 99% effective in detecting HcG. It's also 0% effective in NOT detecting it.

Well, I got a full refund from the company when I complained. So I would wager it is a "calculated risk" rather than a difinitive "waste". You MIGHT get reembursed, but there's no guarantee.
I think I'm going to test DH if he'll play along.

I told DH about these tests...he said that he would certainly do one if we had the money to "waste". But is it really a waste if it helps show that these tests are completely unreliable?

OK- I took this confirm clearly today and got a positive. Freaked out bc my baby isnt even a year old yet. DH came home and we found that this might be false positive, so we went and got an EPT. Well it said negative. So DH urinated on the second Confirm Clearly test just to see, and his showed positive too!!!!!!!!!!

Actually, if it makes you feel better they're about to come under pressure from JAG. We were waiting until it was absolutely official, but now that it is, there is a complaint filed with the JAG office here and they have already contacted the company about their product's inadequacies.

I am one of the heartbroken from the CC test. As Artemis knows, I thought I was going to be a May Mommy. Well guess what, after 1 positive CC test and 6 negatives on various other brands, AF showed up today.
PLEASE DON'T DO THIS TO YOURSELF. It hurts to have a false positive. I mean depression-want-to-eat-a-whole-che esecake kind of hurt. It's one thing to have a chemical pregnancy. This was not. I have had chemical pregnancies and early miscarriages before.
I did not test positive on a single other test out there (and I tried 4 brands) but tested loud and clear positive on CC after using the dip it in a cup method to PREVENT oversaturation.
Thank you, Erika, for setting me straight about these on the May board. You're not a Grinch, you're doing the public a service.

They haven't pulled them yet because they're brand new and they need to have verifiable problems before wiping out an entire product. I get it from a marketing stand point. But don't get it from a ttc standpoint... Actually part of the arguement is chemical pregnancies - so I get why it's going to take them a little while to do anything about this.
Apparently there's something that malfunctions in the electronics if a test gets even slightly oversaturated. Some of the gals I've read about who got positives followed the instructions to the letter and still got positives. Who knows...
1 girl claims her DH got a +, now THAT would make a good arguement to the company!! I was going to test that theory, but didn't want to waste any more $.
FYI - the distributer here in Canada did refund my $ which I thought was nice. In talking to the rep he explained that the tests had worked well in the lab and that they would be retesting them based on the growing # of complaints.
So - if you have a complaint do NOT stay quiet about it! Contact the company and let them know your story.

Girls, I've never heard of this test until last friday.. A friend from my church called to tell me she was PG, so excited (she has an 11 month old). Then she had her sister take her second test, just to be goofy, and hers turned out positive too. So they went and got a different brand test and of course negative.. She went and got blood work Friday after her positive, results to be back in today..
But please don't buy this test. I can't believe they can advertise with 99% accuracy.
I'm so glad we were able to tell another friend at church (she's been trying for a long time). If she would have gotten this and found to be false she would have been devastated..

I read quite a few stories of false positives with the clear blue easy digital. But,so many women on babyfit use them with no problem.I have always understood that false + aren't likely because the urine has to have hcg to make it +. It doesn't make sense how any of them would find it when it's not there, but it would be really disappointing! At peeonastick.com, there is a test that she over saturated by ALOT and it was still accurate.I don't remember the brand though.
What have you done for your marriage today?? I'm putting my husband in his place. :)

I know, that was my original reaction too. but the more experiences I read about the less I'm doubting it. It's really weird.
The rumour currently circulating is that it may be relating to oversaturation of the tests, but you still shouldn't get a false positive!
Waste of money with the potential for heartbreak.
I've sent 2 inquiries to the company but no one has gotten back to me. I will be calling them if I don't get an e-mail response by the time I get back from my mini-vacation (Aug 21). One of the other gals who called was offered "free refil strips" but no refund. NOT nice!

Just a friendly warning. DO NOT WASTE YOUR $$ OR YOUR HOPE ON THESE TESTS.
They are producing a high volume of false positives. No one knows why yet as they're brand new on the market.
Women who have got positives have also ended up with AF right on time. Some girls are now comparrison testing. When they get a positive on the CC (Confirm Clearly) they test with other brands. MANY girls are geting a positive on the CC and negatives on all others (ClearBlue Easy, First Response, etc.)
Just hoping I can save you some $ and heartache. I just red a story about a gal who bought some baby stuff, told her parents, her in-laws and her best friend - only to get AF right on schedule.
