How are you feeling at 37 weeks? i will be 37 weeks next Sunday. I am very excited, but feel so heavy day by day. I will be busy here and there with potential move from apt to a rental home--I won't move anything but wondering if you try to stay off your feet or staying active.

Recovery Week 3
Weight: 169
This week I have started to lighten up on the bleeding. Some days it's almost gone, then other days it starts up again. I guess we are headed in the right direction. Breastfeeding is going really well and I am getting quite a bit of sleep at night since Molly sleeps next to me. I don't think either of us really wake up for a feeding. It's so peaceful. This week Molly has grown out of size one diapers. She's a big one.

Recover Week 1
Weight: 172
OMG I feel so much better this time around than last time. Last time I was in misery for about two weeks straight and then slowly started to recover. This time, I was able to stand and walk around within 6 hours of her birth (as soon as I could walk after the epidural wore off). I was sore in my back area but it wasn't unbearable. I was able to pee the first time I tried and the stitches I got from a small episiotomy didn't really hurt at all. It's never a pleasant experience to bleed so much at the very beginning but at least I wasn't in very much pain!
I was able to shower and shave and blow dry my hair the next morning in the hospital and we got some cute family pictures. We left the hospital that afternoon (at exactly 24 hours from when she was born) because I was feeling so good and Molly was healthy.
I did accept some pain medication because no matter how well I was doing it still hurts to deliver a 9 lb baby. While nothing specific was hurting too much, my whole body ached and felt sore. The pain meds really helped the first few days.
It's now one week later and I still feel like my body is recovering but I have been able to resume my normal activities since about day 3. My episiotomy never gave me any trouble and didn't even hurt. I had to look in a mirror to see if I even still had stitched because I felt so good! Last time with Samantha it was a horrific situation and I thought I would never have another baby because I tore so badly and had such a horrible recovery with the incision area. This time I didn't even feel anything after. Amazing how two pregnancies can be so different.
I have almost stopped bleeding completely at one week pp. I only bled heavily for about 3 days and then it lightened way up to where I only need a little pad.
The other good news is that I was able to poop on day three and didn't have any trouble. Last time I went 10 days with nothing and even then it hurt when I did. This has been a very easy process this time.
Two things that I have had discomfort with were the cramps I experienced the first two days after delivery as my uterus went back down. They hurt A LOT. Like, on a scale of 1-10 they were about a 5. They felt like actual contractions when I nursed Molly and I had to take medication for them. Ouch!
The other issue is my boobs, well actually my nipples, HURT! I am trying my best to make sure she has a good latch, but it must not be working because my nipples bled and then scabbed over within the first few days. Each time she would latch I would just close my eyes and brace for the pain. Now that it's been a week, I can see it improving. The scabs fell off and my nipples are looking pretty healthy again. They are so sore though. They constantly hurt and taking a shower is the worst. My milk came in on day three which I was excited about. I felt some discomfort and soreness when that happened but not too bad. Mostly it's the nipple pain that I am struggling with at this point.

Week 39
Final weigh in: 187.5
This week I had the baby! It was a week full of excitement! At my 39 week check up on Tuesday I found out that I was still 5cm dilated, very thinned out and the baby was at a -1 station. She stripped my membranes and said that it might help me to start contracting.
From then on I started seeing blood mixed in to some goopey discharge stuff. It was more than just streaks but nothing too heavy. I continued to have contractions on Tuesday and all though Tuesday night like I had for the last few weeks but by Wednesday the contractions started to really hurt. They felt like very strong period cramps, and I could feel a painful 'pull' down by my cervix with each one. The problem was that they never got into a pattern. They stayed in an unpredictable pattern and were anywhere from back to back to 1 hour apart. Some were stronger than others but they all started to feel different at this point. Wednesday night the contractions stopped and I slept all though the night. I had a few on Thursday morning and noticed that I didn't feel the baby moving. I hadn't really felt her move strongly since the day before so I called my OB and asked if they could make sure she was ok. I went in at 9:45 on Thursday morning with DH for a non-stress test. Baby was fine but when she checked me her eyes about popped out of her head. I was over 6 cm dilated and almost totally effaced. She looked back at the non stress test and noticed that I had not even had one contraction the entire time. She said that she was going to call the on call dr over at the hospital to see if they would keep me. She agreed.
So, DH and I went across the street to have a baby! Long story short, they waited for me to get an epidural before they broke my water because they didnt know how fast I would go and I didn't want to experience any severe pain.
She broke my water at 1pm and she said I instantly dilated to over 7 cm. They waited for an hour to see if I would start contracting on my own and I didn't so they started me on Pitocin at 2pm. I started contracting and was dilated and effaced the rest of the way by 4pm. I could feel Molly's head in my butt with each contraction but no pain. They set up the bed and the dr came in to deliver her. Before I even started pushing her head started to crown. I never really even pushed and she came out nice and quickly. She was born at 4:13pm and weighed 9lbs 5 oz. One ounce bigger than her sister and looking exactly the same!

Week 37
Weight: 187
Symptoms: nothing new
This week was pretty much the same as last week. I do look bigger though. People are starting to stare with that look of disbelief when they see me. I have heard, "You look like you are going to pop/explode" more times than I can count.
At my OB appointment this week she said I was 3cm dilated, so I don't know if last week's result of 4cm was accurate. I guess it doesn't really matter. Baby had a heart beat of 145 and the head was still down. We set an induction date of October 2nd if I don't have her before then.

Hey jenna I feel like we havent talked in such a long time.....I can't wait to meet the new baby. Molly is such a beautiful name. Where are you delivering? I would love to visit you in the hospital and bring the baby a gift. I was hoping you were having a shower but I don't know if you ever did...hope to hear from you soon. And hang in there its all worth it.

Week 36
Weight: 185
Symptoms: Agonizing cervix and nerve pain in my butt, inner thigh and leg and Molly presses down with her head. Dilated to almost 4cm and still about 60% effaced at my 36 week check up. Dr. said her head was surly down.
This week I feel like I did with Samantha when I had her at 39 weeks. My ob said that if I make it to 39 weeks they will let me induce just like I did with Sam and that makes me SO happy. I only have 3 more weeks to go at the most. I can't WAIT to get this baby girl out and home with us. I want Samantha to meet her and I want her to be part of our lives. I am starting to get excited about having her here for the holidays. I am going to go look for a cute little Halloween outfit for her, and a costume for Samantha. Such fun!
We finished a lot of little projects that needed to be done, like we got the car seat all cleaned and ready and I got the rest of her clothes put away. Things are pretty much ready for her!

Week 35
Weight: 185
Symptoms: Worst week so far. Horrible period like cramps, BH contractions every 5-10 minutes for days, pelvic pain and pressure, dilated 2 cm 60% effaced, loose stools, nausea, no appetite, felt horrible.
This week I had to go into the OB office because I thought I was in labor. Not so much but I did start to dilate. Baby is even lower than I thought she could go. I feel like she is coming out of my butt. In fact, I keep feeling like I have to poop, but it's just her head moving around down there.

Week 33
Weight: 181
Symptoms: More sore than ever in my lower abs and pelvis. It just keeps getting worse. Stabbing pains in my cervix, lots of braxton hix contractions, feel baby scraping by hip joint when she stretches out, very tired, added weight gain.
This week there isn't much to add except I have gotten much more uncomfortable. It's literally painful to move at night from one position to the next. My whole pelvic area is in a lot of pain. My heartburn has pretty much stopped which is good but now I feel the baby's feet pushing up against my ribs. It's pretty uncomfortable.

Week 32
Weight: 179
Symptoms: Heartburn, lots of baby hiccups, very sore pelvis and lower ab muscles.
This week I started working out a little bit at the gym. It feels good, even though I can only go for a few minutes without getting tired. I am also experiencing some uncomfortable heartburn for the first time in my life. It's a weird feeling and I am going to go get some Tums or something to help.
I am still feeling pretty good about the weight gain... up 24 lbs at 32 weeks. My goal has always been 35 lbs so I assume I have met that goal since I only have about 8 weeks to go and will probably only gain another 5 or 6 lbs if I'm careful. I just feel so much smaller this time around. I weighed more last time and I think it really showed. I feel much better about myself this time.
I had my 32 week check up today... everything looked good. She asked me to start thinking about birth control after Molly is born. It was weird to start thinking about AFTER she's born. I guess that means I'm getting towards the end! I also start going every two weeks!

Week 31
Weight: 178
Symptoms: Fatigue, very sore pelvic area, trouble sleeping again this week.
This week I have started to have a bit of trouble getting around. Walking has become a little bit more painful because my whole pelvic area feels like it's going to explode. Sleeping is tough because my hips, and pelvic bone and ab muscles hurt when I move or roll over. Since I'm not sleeping well, I am tired during the day.
On a happy note, Samantha started 3 year old preschool this week! I have 6 hours every day while she's in school and I can tell this is going to be the biggest blessing since Brian is gone for another 5 weeks.
I also had a 31 week ultrasound. The baby measured at least 33 weeks on all measurements and weighed in at almost 5 lbs. She's a chubster like Samantha was! Everything looked good and we got a cute picture of her little face. The ultrasound tech had asked if we had a name, and I said Molly. She typed it on one of the ultrasounds, so I guess it's official. Molly Kate.

Week 30
Weight: 177
Symptoms: Some nausea (bad food?), very tired, very sore pelvic bone and surrounding muscles. Having a little bit of trouble sleeping well at night.
This week her movements are still very strong, although I haven't been in as much pain as I was the past few weeks when she moved. I framed several things for her nursery, and Brian put the crib together for her! Samantha loves to put her baby doll in the crib, as well as climbing in it herself! The room is starting to come together! I am going to buy a changing table off of craigs list today, so that should be the last real piece of furniture we are going to put in there. I still have some more decorating to do, but I will work on that once Samantha starts pre-school next week!
Our new name choice this week is Morgan. I really like that name. Morgan Anne.

Week 28
Weight: I'm scared to get on the scale (ok I finally made myself and I am 176. That's up a total of 21 lbs)
Symptoms: PAINFUL and SUPER strong movement. Baby is VERY low already and her head is smashing my cervix.
This past week or two, her movements have literally left me gasping, squirming, and even swearing at one point. I can't believe a baby can be this strong at 28 weeks. It just doesn't seem right. We were at the movies watching Harry Potter and I had to keep counter pressure on one area of my stomach the entire 2.5 hours because she was pushing so hard it was taking my breath away the pain was so intense. My belly button is flat at this point, and sticks out a little bit.
New name list:

This week Samantha started swim lessons so I bought a new maternity bathing suit from Target. Brian comes home from Altus... we are so excited. Symptoms: Wonderful movement
This week Mimi is here. We had the big 20 week ultrasound and found out we are having a GIRL!!! Brian is gone right now, so he got to hear the results over the phone. Samantha loved watching the baby move around. It was a wonderful moment.
We think we picked a name this week: Zoey Ann. I love it and think it sound so special. We bought a few little onsies at the store and it was really fun folding such small clothes again. I can't wait to meet you baby!

This week we traveled to Orlando and spent three days at Disney world. I did pretty well, even though it was hot out. We are now in Altus, OK after a long 4 day drive. I am really feeling the baby move. Much more than with Samantha at this stage. Brian loves to feel it when it starts kicking.

Symptoms: More movement, feeling really good, skin is pretty clear, tummy grew a lot.
This week my stomach really grew and I had to move into maternity clothes. I would say that I am 'showing' now. Movement has started to strengthen and I can feel stronger kicks. Brian can feel the movement from the outside and I can even see it when the baby is really kicking. The kicks are still pretty low... just a few inches above my pubic bone.

Symptoms: Very light nausea, skin looks much better, stomach popped out this week, first real 'pokes' from baby.
This week I felt the baby kick me during a movie. I got poked about 10 times! I haven't felt anything sense then but it was wonderful. This week I got significantly bigger in the belly area. After I eat, or by the end of the day I am starting to show. I have thought about pulling out my maternity clothes, and shopping for some new ones.

This week I have started to feel the baby move! It feels different than when I felt Samantha for the first time. This is a little bit more like movement whereas hers felt more like pokes. I have also been getting what feel like braxton hix contractions where my uterus balls up and I feel pressure.

Weight: 157 Symptoms: Light spotting after sex, extreme hunger, sore/heavy breasts, mild nausea, mild tiredness, gas and bloating, cramps.
This week I started to spot a little bit. I was so scared and thought it might mean there was a problem. Thankfully I stopped right away and haven't bleed since. I have been VERY bloated and it makes my tummy stick out. I feel like I have a big ball of air in my stomach at all times. I have also been having a cramping feeling in my lower stomach and back. I hope it's just from all the gas. I threw up once this week.

Week 7
Weight: Unknown Symptoms: I threw up for the first time and my pants are getting a little tight in the evenings.
This week I worried a little bit because I used a heating blanket several nights in a row since it was so cold in the house. I did some research on it and I was not supposed to do that. I hope everything is ok and that I didn't hurt you by doing that. I feel so bad and will not be doing it anymore!
I also threw up for the first time this morning. It was very unpleasent but am feeling much better now! Today is Valentine's Day and Daddy has a special weekend planned for us. We are leaving Samantha with Mimi and we are going away on a special trip. I hope I do not get sick!

WEEK 6
Weight: 153 Symptoms: Very mild nausea once or twice, feeling very tired at night, back hurts.
This week we came back to California. It has been fun to have family congratulate us in person. When we go back to Charleston in a few weeks we will tell everyone there about you. I will be about 8 weeks along at that point. It's so amazing to think that you have a heart beat already. I have started to wonder more if you are a boy or a girl and what you are going to look like!

WEEK 5:
Weight: 153 Symptoms: bloating, light cramping, gas, trouble sleeping, and I get frustrated easily.
This week a few more people found out about you. Part of me likes having a secret that other people don't know, but part of me wants to shout it from the roof tops. My urine test from the base came back positive the second time around so a referral was put in for an an OB. I picked the same doctor that I had with Samantha. I called and scheduled my first pre-natal check-up for February 23rd. I am so excited to see you for the first time!
