I had a c-section on 12/3 and bled for 4 weeks. I am exclusively breastfeeding and my period started 3 months pp. Every body is different. Like pp said, I would call the doc if you are concerned, but it doesn't sound like you have anything to worry about.

That is normal after a Section.I had 2 Sections, and the 2nd one in October,I did not bleed at all, until 3 weeks later, then it was on,and off for a few months.Up until recently,I was getting my Period 2 times a month. It is your body cleansing itself.

I had a c-section as well. The second time around my bleeding would come & go. It would stop completely for some days and then come back. I did actually have my period four weeks after my c-section. I called the doctor, quite concerned, because I thought I was hemorrhaging (sp?) His nurse told me what to look for to see if I needed to come in for a visit: pain, fever, going through a pad in an hour our less, bleeding that gets heavier & clumpier (about the size of quarters)..

Hi all..

Can anyone help me? I just recently had a c-section 2/28/07. It is now only 11 days later and I think I have my period. Is this normal?? I don't go back for a check up for another 5 weeks. After the c-section, I bled for about 5-6 days, then it stopped. Now it's back but the color of period blood. Not quite bright red, but not deep dark red either. does this sound right???

I've heard that you are not supposed to get your period for 6 weeks after your c-section!

thanks ladies!!
