Searching shared foods

I'm another one that finds this frustrating. If there was a way to export even your OWN entered foods it would be much easier.
I have a huge amount of food nutritional values on Spark that I've entered over the last couple of years because I'm an Aussie and a lot of the foods available here aren't on the lists.

Having to enter them again is a real pain, and having to use Spark for nutrition and Babyfit for community seems really redundant.

I agree that this is disappointing as it seriously undercuts the usefulness of this website :*(

After all, there are many other online forums for pregnant women that have community forums, fitness & nutrition articles, personalized "baby webpages", and other ways to share... having the nutrition tracking onsite is really what differentiates this site from others. Not having it as robust as your SP site (or even sharing info like usernames and food databases), you lose that advantage over other sites.

I will go back to using SP for nutrition tracking but not sure how much I'll use BF for its "community" aspect as I am already a member of a couple other communities.

Thank you for your feedback. At this time we are unable to link the nutritional information in SparkPeople to BabyFit because they are on different technical platforms.

Many of our members use both SparkPeople and BabyFit. SparkPeople for nutrition and fitness tracking and BabyFit for Community Support. If you use SparkPeople for nutrition tracking make sure you update your nutritional goals to match your BabyFit recommendation.

I will pass your feedback along to our development team.

Thank you,
Samantha

Hi - I was a long time SparkPeople member, and have moved over here for the duration of my pregnancy, but I'm finding the food choices extremely limiting!

Why can you not search for shared foods anymore? That was where I got easily 80-90% of the foods I put in my nutrition tracker. And now to have to enter the nutritional value of every single thing I have......well, there's not enough time in the day to do that and still work!

I would assume that it's pulling the search from the main SP database, so why do we only have a fraction of the search functionality?

I know a suggestion would be to go back over to the main SP site, but that takes away from the idea of having a community of pregnant women to vent, share ideas, suggestions, etc.
