Ab exercises are usually fine during pregnancy, and the only worries are with you doing supine (flat on your back) exercises after the first trimester. You need to prop your upper body up a bit to avoid having too much pressure put on your abdominal blood vessels and causing lightheadedness.

Also, avoid any movement that feels uncomfortable or painful, and don't push to the point of discomfort. I prefer the series of ab exercises at the link below for pregnancy:

I am in my first tri and am thinking of starting the Gillian Michaels 30 Day shred dvd to keep my arms in shape. Has anyone had a good experience with these DVD's? I currently run every other day so I am relatively fit... But this may sound silly. At the back of my head I keep wondering if doing ab exercises is okay while pregnant? Thoughts... comments?
