Thank you so much for the advice. I try not to sit for more than 1 hour at a time. Seems to be working so far.

I am sorry you are having this pain I had this on and off through my pregnancy, I wore a SI stabilzation belt and it helped, and I worked with a physical therapist and chiropractor as well. Cathy's idea of the cushion and icing should be helpful also. You are almost there, hang in there!!!

Our first arrived February 6, 2006, what a blessing!! Abigail Susan Hambidge, she is truly a miracle!!!

You poor thing-tailbone pain is so tough to deal with since sitting is part of every day!
First of all, I would suggest you get a tailbone cushion to use while sitting. That will help to take pressure off the tailbone and make you more comfortable. I found several selections on Amazon:

cushion

Try icing the area several times a day to reduce your pain. Use a slush pack of ice, 1/2 cup water and 2 tablespoons of rubbing alcohol-tie the bag securely and wrap in a thin towel. Apply for 20 minutes several times a day.

The position of you baby can be causing your pain, as well as other postural changes that occur during pregnancy. I would give your doctor a call if the pain impacts your ability to walk, as a referral to a physical therapist can be really helpful in treating the problem.

Any advice for tailbone pain? I'm 35 weeks and I can't sit for a long time. I even have trouble walking. Anyone out there with the same problem?
