I have been trying to clean out the pantry lately by buying less at the store and using up what we have, so our snack options are slim. But I have been eating graham crackers, apples with peanut butter, yogurt, etc. I like the ideas everyone else has. Going for nuts next time I need a snack!

I am probably in my 6-8 week range (haven't had my first appt yet and it is killing me!!). I still struggle with morning sickness (thank goodness it is in the morning only at this point). This morning my go to snack has been discovered! Cherios. I can eat them slowly and it isn't too much all at once for my tummy.

I've been trying to eat every 2-3 hrs so I pack my snacks for work during the day. I always pair carbs with protein and it's working really well for me, I feel so much better!
1) 1 serving of raw nuts (22 almonds or 14 walnuts usually) paired with fruit or yogurt ( I like the chobani greek yogurt as well). 2) Light string cheese pr lowfat cheese cubes paired with fruit or 1 serving whole grain crackers 3) Celery or apple and peanut/almond butter
I don't have fruit at every snack, if I had fruit paired with string cheese for instance, than my next snack will usually be celery and peanut butter or something.
Bigger snacks when I need something more substantial (sometimes I'm just plain HUNGRY!) would be:
1) 1/2 whole wheat pita spread with 2tbsp hummus and an ounce or two of pre-cooked chicken or turkey (I cook up a bunch ahead of time for salads/snacks etc) and some sliced cucumber/bell pepper/whatever I have on hand. 2)100% whole wheat/low carb tortilla spread with 1tbsp light cream cheese and some turkey and veggies (whatever you like or have on hand) 3) 1/2 of a whole wheat Arnold sandwich thin with 2 tsp natural peanut or almond butter and 1/2 a sliced banana (I like it toasted!) 4) 1 piece whole wheat spread with 2 tsp each of natural peanut or almond butter and no sugar added jam 5)1 small corn tortilla - warmed (I like to "fry" mine in just a spritz of spray oil) with 4 tbsp fat free refried beans and 1/8 C low fat cheese. 6) Home made baked sweet potato fries with ketchup. I just slice them into rounds if I'm in a hurry but you can also do traditional fry shapes and bake them at 425 until they look done (I dont time them lol). You can either coat them with like 2 tsp of oil or just spritz with spray oil depending on your calorie requirements. I dip them in ketchup sometimes....I don't really have a protein that I pair this with but it's sooo yummy and healthy! Works great for a salt fix.

I'm actually trying to eat right for 3 and I try to keep only healthy snacks in my house like carrots and grape tomatoes with cabbage or sesame seed snacks that I get from the organic store.... Delicious!

I have a sweet tooth and this helps. I blend 1cup frozen blueberries, half cup frozen strawberries, and 1cup unsweetened almond milk. After blended i add in roadside lemonade protein powder.

Now that I am over the puking my brains out stage I am working on eating things higher in protein and lower in carbs. The carbs puts so much weight on me and I couldn't eat anything but in my first trimester.
Snacks for me right now are....
1.) Fruit or veggies with peanut butter, they have cute single cups at the grocery store in Jiff brand creamy. It is more like 2 servings though so be careful!
2.)Home made trail mix - Raisins, raw nuts and pretzels
3.) String cheese
4.) Chobani greek yogurt - better to get plain and add your own sweetner because its less calories and more protein!
5.)Wild pink salmon in a can with pickles ( weird I know )
6.)Cheese crackers with pickles n olives

I try to always carry some healthy snacks where ever I go. I find that if I don't I'll grab whatever I see (which is never healthy). So fruits, nuts, granola bars. I'm currently in love with dates (weird, I know). Every afternoon I try to make a fruit smoothie....almond milk with any fruits I have around the house (orange, banana, mango, etc). This helps keep me full and curbing my sweet tooth in the afternoon until dinner time.

Are you allowed to eat crabsalad while pregnant? Cooked, cooled seafood? I thought it was a no-no.

With my first two I craved egg rolls. With this third pregnancy, I've been craving crab salad. Weird. And not one of the local grocery stores carries it. They do carry the cooked crab sushi which is close, but not quite. so I picked up some flaked, cooked crab yesterday, and I'm going to try making my own.

Awesome ideas, thanks everyone! I have been eating cheese, raisins and yogurt raisins as some of my snacks. I also made some french onion dip with greek yogurt and dipped pretzels and celery in it - so good and full of protein!

In addition to what the others have said, nuts are a good snack, as long as you keep them in portion control. What I do for work is put 1 oz in a snack bag, plus take a cereal bar and some fruit. I usually go out for lunch the two days I work in the office, and at home I snack on fruit / veggies, yogurt, nuts, etc.

I bought those individual cups of chobani greek yogurt from BJs, each cup is 100 calories. I have read that eating yogurt regularly throughout pregnancy lowers your risk of developing preeclampsia. And I've found the greek yogurt feels rich and thick, which satisfies when I'm having a craving for cheesecake or something heavy and sweet like that.
I also love peanut butter. You can put it on celery and apples, and they taste delicious together!
I also keep a supply of various nuts: almonds, walnuts, pistachio. They are good for salty cravings.

Hi everyone! Just wondering what some of your go - to snacks that you have on hand. I am finding that I am needing a few more snacks. Of course, I have fruits and veggies...but what else?
