I have never read that it is dangerous. If the variety is a soft cheese (feta), it should definately be pasteurized or heated to bubbly hot before being consumed. I believe if it is pasteurized, it is okay. Hopefully Becky will chime in too!

I have heard conflicting answers. Some say that you can eat the cheese as long as it is labeled "pasteurized", others say not to eat goat cheese at all.
