Ladies make sure to pee after sex. It will help prevent UTI's. The bacteria from the sperm sometimes causes them, even if he washes well before sex. It would also help if you washed down there after sex.

Cranberry juice makes your urine more acidic. The more acidic your urine is, the harder it is for bacteria (which causes the infection) to grow.

i'm pretty prone to kidney infections and uti's. i started drinking glasses of 1/2 water diluted cranberry juice (100% juice) on a regular basis and it definitely reduced the quanity and intensity of them. the water is good for your kidneys, too. (gotta keep up with water intake). but like said before, still need to get antibiotics for them if you actually have one now. (the rest is for good preventitive measure and health).

proud to be breastfeeding my daughter!

I AM NOT SURE ABOUT THE KIDNEY INFECTION BUT I HAD A REALLY BAD UTI RECENTLY AND SOMEONE TOLD ME TO DRINK CRANBERRY JUICE. WELL IT DID SAY ON THE BOTTLE THAT IT REDUCES THE NUMBER OF UTI'S BUT IT DOESNT CURE IT. SO TO SAY THE LEAST ANTIBIOTICS ARE STILL NEEDED. I AM GOING TO CONTINUE TO DRINK CRANBERRY JUICE (EVEN THOUGH I DONT LIKE THE THE TASTE)SINCE I DO HAVE A FAIR AMOUNT OF UTI'S FOR SOME REASON. MAYBE ITS BECAUSE I EAT TOO MUCH YOGURT.

well after talking to the doc she said it probably wasn't my kidneys...but I thought UTI's and Kidney INF were two different things...your answer referred to a UTI...hmmm

Glad you are getting to the doctor. There is currently no research to show that cranberry juice can help treat a current urinary tract infection.

It may help in the prevention of urinary tract infections, more research is needed.

I have a question....probably one for the experts. I have a kidney infection I am pretty sure (I see do Monday but I need some advice).

I am tyring to drink cranberry juice but how much do you need to help clear a kidney infection? What other things can you do to aid in it as well?

The thing is that I would love to just chug the whole bottle of juice and be done with this but the thing is i have several stomach issues (another ques later) that make it very hard to drink juice due to the acidity...that is one of the reasons for this question.

Any Help would be appreciated!
