Ouch - 11lb - 13lbs - no thanks - I had troubles with 8-9lbs babies. I concur with you Mary - I do not like when other people automatically assume something. I think most people would agree that people lose their manners and forget we have feelings and we are not JUST pregnant we are still human.

:) I am so tired of people saying "oh well you will have a cesarean for sure" when they see me or my sonogram or I tell them 14 oz at 20 weeks. I am short but not "tiny" - as in I had 34" normal hips to begin with and they've spread plenty thank you very much! LOL! I hope to avoid the cesearan so it kills me for folks to assume I'd "have" to have one - plus I've know a few moms that vaginally delivered 11 and even a 13 pound baby!

How many oz are a pound? My baby was just over a pound at 22 weeks.

I just had my ultrasound on Wednesday. I am in my 20th week. My 21st week will start on Monday. The technician said that my baby was 12oz. I asked if that is where the baby should be by now. He said yes, this is a good weight. He didn't comment any further by saying it was a bit high or even a bit low.
I have read a few different weight calculations for this time of the pregnancy, none of them are the same.
So, I guess what I am trying to say is that the baby is healthy and that is all you need to know.
Congrats!
Stef

O.k. So most of the books I'm reading and the online calenders all tell me that my 20 week baby weighs around 10 oz. WELL - I had a sonogram today at 20 weeks and the doc says 14 oz. !!!!! Then he says "umm -was your husband big? :p" Its a boy. :) I was like "yeah - 9 lbs and 6 oz". He's like "well this one healthy baby boy!" So is 14 oz really 40% over an average of 10 oz at 20 weeks or what? Anyone have a clue?
