With our first we thought we were having a boy, we didn't find out the gender but my DH really wanted a boy and he thought he saw something at the ultrasound, and our midwife even said she would eat her shoe if we had a girl, right up to delivery. I will never forget DH's face when he saw his little girl for the first time he was in tears(of joy)looked at me and said "It's a little girl!" He wouldn't change a thing she is his little princess, we are trying for #2 and would like a boy to carry on the family name but we both will be over the moon if we can just have a healthy pregnancy first.

My husband also said he didn't care but he wanted a boy too.

We have the most beautiful baby girl and he just told me the other day that he "didn't want anymore kids because she was perfect..." He is wrapped around her little finger! He doesnt even want to try for a boy!

It is natural for some to really want a specific gender. With my first, everyone was "so sure" it was a boy. We did not find out before the birth and surprise - it was a girl. She is the biggest Daddy's girl ever and has DH wrapped around her little finger. Daddy's turn to mush with their little girls.

I think finding out will make it more real. If he acts a little disappointed, try not to worry. When the baby comes - then the reality will really sink in and he'll come around. It's just different for guys I think. They need to experience it for real. He's not in love and in sync with the baby now the way you are. It's still a vision. Even my DH said that he never thought he would be so thrilled to have his little girl cause he really wanted a boy too. He wouldn't change a thing. Now he does have his boy too - but his little girl is still his little princess!
