I had 3-4 stitches (they never told me how many) and they told me i could drive when I felt up to it. I didn't feel up to driving for about 10 days anyway.

Whwn I had my hospital births, they said 2wks. My mw never restricted me. She told me to take it easy and listen to my body.

My youngest weaned at 31 months. (I was pregnant, so didn't mind. But when I lost the baby, I was really upset.) I homeschool, use natural products, cosleep, cloth diapers, wear my baby, attachment parent, don't vaccinate, and love God, my husband of over 19 years, and my kids!

I feel the same way about my DH driving lol! I hadn't even thought of this until I saw the post. Somehow I just think that I will be too tired to drive afterwards. But I can't imagine not driving for 2-4 weeks! But I guess you all are right, it totally depends on the circumstances around the delivery. Thanks so much for the info!

It will depend on whether or not you deliver in tact, or if you have any tears or stitches too. Most women they say not for two weeks- but when I delivered my last one in tact- I was told whenever I felt up to it.

With my first I was told not to drive for 2 weeks. With the second one I asked if I wasn't allowed to drive for 2 weeks and they said I could drive whenever I wanted to as long as I felt up to it.
I did have a different OB with each child.

I didn't drive for awhile after i had my son, but i also didn't feel that great. But with this one i delivered on thursday and drove on sunday. No one told me not to drive until a certain time. I would ask at your next appointment or before you leave the hospital.
