That's what I heard about castor oil a glass of wine and a walk. Neighbor of mine told me that and she did it with all 4 of her kids.

Crystal, I can not for the life of me remember. This was pre baby and while I was still under the influence of prego brain, but I wish I did know. I will look and see if I put the name in my childbirth class folder.....now where did I put that.

My mom said she drank Castor Oil to have me because I was ten days late, and It worked! Nasty though, She must have been desperate.

I didn't nest either. Actually I built a lil nest on the couch and chilled quite often! Is that what they were talking about??

Purdy- That is the salad!!!! As soon as I read the ingredients it came back to me. I would go with that one.

me either, Kelle.

I'm still trying to find that nesting instinct. I'm home today, and as I was sweeping the floor I saw the computer and thought "oooh, let's check babyfit".

my floor is still dirty.

Thats really strange, I've never heard of that. I've heard of certain herbs and eating fresh pineapple, but not the olive garden dressing. I guess you learn something new everyday.

my midwife gave me a "labor salad" recipe..the dressing was aged balsamic vinegar and olive oil.(she said this is the key). The salad has romaine lettuce, fresh bean sprouts, mandarine oranges and walnuts...

eat a big bowlful for lunch if you are ready for labor...(It worked for me with kid #1)
unfortunately #2 and #3 were induced so I can't say it works every time..

There's a salad at some restaraunt in Orlando that actually has a warning on it. They discourage pregnant women from eating it if they aren't at the safe point in their pregnancies. Something with raspberries and walnuts. Some chick in my childbirth class told us about it. I was tempted to make the drive since I learned of it on my due date.

I think maybe having a full tummy and having to go to the bathroom might trigger it for some. My mom ate a big meal one night when she was pregnant with me, and had tummy cramps(aka, gas) and then two hours later was in labor. I always think its funny that my birth was brought on by a tummy ache, but am not above it!

Well a bunch of women called in and swore by it saying that when they were overdue they ate there and went into labor shortly after.

I doubt that...it's just italian dressing, so many people eat italian dressing I don't see a connection with that. Labor is much more complicated than eating dressing.
