Sid LOs do have a lot of repetitive behavior. They like to do things the same way all the time . And if you try to change there pattern they get upset.

I know how you are feeling. I was told my DD suffered from SID by an OC. We have been treating her for about 6 months now with OC therapy. I just recently took her to her Ped to inquire his thoughts about her behavior. She was referred to early intervention for speech delay in the beginning . Then I was told that the reason she was speech delayed was because she had SID.

Her ped says she doesn't have SID. He says all kids have some sensory issues. He says her behavior is bad because she is frustrated because she is not being understood when talking.

Sorry to ramble. I guess I just wanted to say ask for another opinion. Problem is everyone has a different opinion. Who really knows what they are talking about is my question.

From what I know, lots of kids with SID also have OCD. There seems to be diagnoses that come in clusters like ADHD, ODD, OCD, ASD, PDD. Makes me feel that they have a common cause. There is even a saying that ADHD rarely travels alone. I would think that 2 might be a bit young for a diagnosis of OCD except maybe in an extreme case. At this age, I would think it was a suspected diagnosis that should get treatment because once it's confirmed it might be harder to treat.

OCD like behaviors can go along with SID or ASD. I honestly think that 2 years old is WAY too early to diagnose this. What types of things does he do that would lead them to believe this?

I don't know about OCD, but my son has a lot of pattern behavior and is "ocd" about things and is on the autism spectrum. His autism is what plays into that behavior. I have never herad of a toddler being diagnosed with OCD before. My son is ASD and also has SID.
