Jackie G- I had the same thing happen to me. I got a bacterial infection, took the stuff they gave me and now it itches again. What is up with that. I know for a fact you can use Vagisil. Thank God or I'd be a scratching mess the whole time!!

glad to know I'm not the only one! I really am not sure if I have an infection or not.. I always thought it was supposed to be smelly and gross.. I just randomly itch. Then again, I'm just generally miserable in that region since I think I'm also experiencing my first hemeroids (sorry.. WAY TMI!) this pregnancy thing stopped being a total ball all of a sudden!

Vagisil's website says they're OK for pregnancy, but it's always a good idea to ask your doctor first. And honestly I can't even remember the last time my Gyne cultured me for a yeast infection. They generally diagnose based on symptoms. It's kind of one of those "If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck (or itches like a SOB duck) it's probably a duck."
I'd try the Monistat 7 first. It's safe for use during pregnancy and if you put off treatment with the Vagisil you might end up with a much nastier yeast infection.

For the past couple days I have been having terrible itching. I had taken an antibiotic for a bacterial infxn about a month ago, and I am wondering if I have a yeast infxn now. I have never had one so I don't know. I called our OB and she said to go buy Monistat 7 and try that, and at my check up next Tuesday they would check me then. But I am not real set on relying on my self diagnosis and going to buy the stuff and using it. It may be something else, and I don't wanna put anything in my body I don't need, especially a medication. My question is, is vagisil safe to use to control the itching until next week? Not internally I know, but externally? Anyone use during pregnancy? Any suggestions would be great!!
