My due date was on July 17, 2008 and on June 25, 2008 I went to my OB visit and she told me I was 1/2 a centimeter dilated. I was so excited I thought to myself well maybe she will come a little early. Another week went by and I went for my next OB appointment and everything was the same. Sometime that week I had some extremely painful back pain. It hurt so bad, I thought I needed to go to the hospital, but I didn't. At next weeks appointment I was 1 centimeter dilated and my cervix was 70% thinned out. The doctor told me that was probably why I felt so much pain. My next appointment was July 16, 2008 and she said I was almost at 2 centimeters. I was a little upset because I was thinking well it took this long to get to 2 cent., how long is it gonna take to get to 10. The morning of July 18, 2008 I woke up and noticed that I was having some slight pain in my abdomen. Well when I went to the restroom I noticed that there was some pink mucous. About an hour later I called my mom ad told her and she said I better go to the hospital. I didn't feel as if I needed to go to the hospital but I went anyway @ about 10 a.m. They checked my cervix and I was at 3 centimeters. I thought they were gonna send me back home, but they told me to walk the halls. I walked for like 3 hrs and I was finally at 4 cent. They admitted me and put me in a labor room. Next I got an epidural and pitocin and @ 6:30 p.m I was 5 cent. That epidural worked a miracle because I couldn't feel anything. At 9:30 p.m they checked and I was 10 cent. The baby's head was right there so they had to set up everything really quick. I pushed about 3 times and I seen my baby. They placed her on my chest and she was so warm. The umbilical cord was tangled around her feet and the doctor told me he had never seen that before. She was born at 9:57 pm. Everything went by so fast. She weighed 6 lbs. 11 0z. and was 19.5 inches long. I thanked God for the labor I had because to me it won't nothing I couldn't handle. I couldn't feel a thing. I was so happy when she appeared all I could think was that she was perfect.
