I had mild pains at about 1 am and thought nothing of it -- just pregnancy discomfort. My water broke at about 7:30 -- still very little pain. We got to the hospital at about 8:45, and I was checked at about 9:15 -- still very little pain and 4 cm dilated. At about 2:15 pm, I couldn't take the pain anymore and asked for an epidural -- 6 cm dilated. At 3:00, it was discovered that my daughter was breech -- delivered by c-section at 3:32 pm.

With my first I went in to the hospital and they said that I was only 3" dialated... So they sent me for a walk came back and same story, they were finally going to send me home when the babies O2 levels were not right, they admitted me and 15 minutes later he was born. I'm hoping this next one is quick and easy as well! Good luck to all of you.

Both my boys took 15 hours to get here. My first son was two weeks overdue, I had to get induced and 15 hours after induction, he was here. My second son was two weeks overdue, went in to labor on my own, the morining I was scheduled to get induced. 15 hours later, he was here. Although with my second son, I started hemmoraging after delivery...that was no fun at all. But hey, we are all healthy and happy now.
I am a stay at home mother of two boys!

My daughter came out like a rocket three days early. Water broke at 4am started having contractions. Drove an hour to the hospital was dilated 3cm. No epidural. No dr. Nurse had to deliver before the dr even got there.(I guess he was on call?? ) I dunno I just wanted to push. Next thing I know she was out and I was so happy. Hated the staff they had me sitting upright, on my area. Don't know how a baby is gonna come out when your sitting on their exit, so I finally stopped listening to them and did it my way, laid back and let my body do the talking. She came out on the next push. Glad I stopped listening to them. Wonder what this little one is gonna be like. Hmmm.

I barely beat my induction date. My daughter was 8 days late, I was in labor for a day or two. My mother had me walk to the mail box and back, about half a mile, and then we went to a craft fair the next day so I could walk around. My contractions were killing me I couldn't walk for a very long period of time. I was sitting around at home all day with contractions and my husband finally made me go to the hospital after 7 hours or so of continuos contractions. We arrived and I was just dilated enough to be admitted. It was around 3 am. I had my daughted at noon that afternoon. So I had been in labor for over 12 hours. She was born sunny-side up(face pointing up) and gave me the most awful back labor. I did it all without drugs. Did have to have iv fluids though because I became so dehydrated. Then I had to have nausea medication because the doctor stripped my membranes and it was making me throw up. My water didn't actually break until the doctor touched it. It was bulging so bad she broke it without meaning to. I wouldn't change a minute of it for anything.

Well My little girl was delivered with 19mins no epi however they say no pregnancy just as no child is the same which is why I laugh when I think about my second delivery which was my little guy being born after 4 days of active labor. I am just praying this pregnancy goes more like the first!

I guess i am one of those lucky women who don't labor long. i was induced on Jan 16th '09 due to Pre-eclampsia.Which my due date wasn't for another 2 weeks. i checked into the hospital at 8am and was put directly on pitocin, already dialated to a 3, My doctor came to break my water at 9am, but my water broke on its own 1/2hour before she got there, Once she checked me & was supprised she didnt have to break my water she said i was already at a 5 i could get my epidural at anytime. i said YES NOW PLEASE!! then got my epidural inbetween horrid strong contractions. Next thing i know they are calling my doctor to have her come in. The nurse said for me to start pushing that was at 12:20pm. I pushed Baylee out at 12:46pm. I was a TROOPER!!! and i was glad i didnt rip, poop, or throw up through it all! i was a proud mother. Right after she came out i remember tearing up and hearing her soft/quiet cry i was flooded with happiness and relief! so it went quick and great! she came out healthy and strong! she was 5lbs 15oz, 18 1/2in long with beautiful blue eyes!! Baylee Niccole! thank you God. I love my family and we are adjusting well.

I was induced with a cervical cap. 13 1/2 hours later they finally broke my water. 4 hours later i started pushing. 15 minutes later, my son was here. i had asked for a epidural, but it took them 2 hours to get there, and i was crowning already, so i didn't get one. I had no medication. I had contractions the whole time, but they started off soft, but they got really hard after they broke my water. I agree it was a great experience.

Mine was 21hrs 40mins, 1hr 10mins of which was pushing (no drugs). I didn't mind it being that long because it started off quite gently and gave me time to adjust to everything - it was a great experience overall and I'm hoping this one goes as well!

Well my son was due on November 6th but he took his time. I went in for my second non stress test on november 15th...and my doctor had scheduled to have me induced on the 16th if he didn't come any sooner! When I got to the non stress test I was told there wasn't enough fluid around my son so I would be admitted right away! They induced my labor that night on november 15th at 6:30pm and he was born 9:44pm the next day so thats 15:14 minutes! However the pain didn't come until around 12:30pm so active labor was about 9:14

My second daughter I was a week over due I went in the night before to be induced. I pushed for 3 hours I was begging for a c-section. She was finally born at 8:23pm the next night. I was in active labor for 18 hours and 54 minutes. They induced me at 2100 Sunday, broke my water at 0900 Monday, gave me an epidural at 0930. I was on pitocin from 0930 on. I dilated from 1cm to 10cm sleeping. Pushed while throwing up from 1330-1554. My epidural wore off and did not take effect again while I was pushing. I had at least a 2nd degree cut and VBAC. My daughters shoulders were too wide and she was in the birth canal too long. My epidural wore off around 1400-1430. It was most definitely worth it.

A VBAC 53 hours of labor with 3 hours of pushing. Only 9 hours with epidural, but 40ish hours with pitocin (Yuck), but I managed a VBAC and my DH stayed the whole time helping! Found out later that my sweetie had been seriously wedged in and has torticullus as a result and I had displaced hips. But it was worth it!

For my first, my water broke on it's own in the morning and I started having contractions about 2 hours later, around noon, and she was born at 5:01 pm after about 30 minutes of pushing, so I was only in painful labor for about 5 hours.
For my second, I was walking around 6 cm dilated with painless contractions coming every 3 to 5 minutes, so they broke my water artificially at around 9 in the morning. Me and the hubby walked around the hospital waiting for something to happen for about 4 hours until at 10 minutes to 10 something "clunked" inside me (for lack of a better word) and long hard contractions started bowling me over every 2-3 minutes until she was born at 4:37 after about 3-4 minutes of pushing. So all totalled a little under 4 hours for the second.

I was having BH contractions that turned into labor.
I count "labor" as being in pain...enough to where I couldn't sleep through it. So from that point (where I was timing them and couldn't sleep through them) until the time I delivered...close to 42 hours.
I pushed somewhere around an hour and forty five minutes.
