Great info about the fat content in his other foods. Ethan would live off of cheese if I let him so I have no worries about him not getting enough fat. I think we're going to go to 1% and I'll keep an eye on the other foods he's eating as well.

I have Ryan drinking 2%. We drink skim, but some days he eats better than others, so we'll prob stick to 2% for a while.

The main thing you want to watch is that he is getting enough fat from other food sources. If he is a picky eater at all then it is best to stay with the higher fat milks (whole or 2%). He should be getting about 1/3 of his daily calories from fat so you just need to assess his diet to see what would be most appropriate for Ethan. I know with Bennett he generally prefers to fill up on fruit and vegetables so we still need to stick to high fat milk.

*lol* whole milk for DS and DH they are skinny with high metabolic rates, 1% for DD who is not as lucky, and soy milk for me... partially because I'm lactose intolerant and partially because after breast feeding and pumping I'm a little more than sympathetic to those poor cows.

So now we can switch our toddlers off of whole milk what percentage are you going to? I usually drink skim milk but my BF wants to switch to 1% (he's usually a 2% guy but I refuse to buy 3 kinds of milk! LOL).
