Heard the heartbeat today at the midwife--150 :D My baby's in there! I'm only 10 weeks, too, so I wasn't sure... I'm so happy :D

COngratualations

And Barnes and Noble has a set of Books called "Now you are reading" and it has 10 simple sight word books and comes with cards. Abby learned to read off those so many eras ago.

Thank you!!

I can't stand Stephen King's writing, but I love his movies (usually--I still haven't forgiven him for The Mist--that was incredibly upsetting!). I read that stuff in an interview, not his book. The book sounds interesting, though! I've read/watched lots of interviews with him.

I'm not sure if it's gory... I'm not really sure what the definition would be in book form! There's definitely violence, but I 'fade to black' a lot of it.

I've never finished a book before. I have never been able to write at this pace, ever. I always thought I just wasn't capable of it. Now I think that maybe I just hadn't had the right (original) story to really get me to stick it out!

I did look into publishing a couple years ago as I got closer to done on my longest run project. Now the process is changing, though, so I've got to look into it all over again, lol.

Is it gory? I don't like gory. But would still read it if it was. But I thought it sounded good :)

So, I'm not posting on FB yet, but I wanted to tell my ladies here that after only ONE try (and I'm sure you understand how much that means with all the difficulties I've had conceiving), I'm 4 1/2 weeks pregnant. I've got strong girl vibes this time around and trying not to think about the fact that I've been dead wrong twice now so I can just concentrate on being happy with girl #3, lol. I'll have a matched set of four when we're done ;)

And a general update on me and the kiddos:

Lilly is doing great--excited to be a big sister again, trying hard to read (I really don't think phonics is a fit for her, but I can't seem to find any sight reading programs). She's obsessed with everything being in fours because she's four, lol. She's got some basic addition down, but we're pretty relaxed about it.

Naomi is two now and still a spunky little stinker. She makes the most adorable, strange sounds. She's big on her voice--singing, making noises, different voices, etc. Very sound oriented. Might explain why she was always sensitive to sound and doesn't like loud noises. She knows her ABCs and counts to 14 before she messed up, lol, and I think Lilly taught it all to her ;)

I've been in project mode and goal oriented. Earlier this month, I had a dream that was so vivid, I decided to abandon my other books for a while and go Stephen King with my muse (writes from his dreams, tried to get done in less than three months and like me, he writes in a linear way, which is apparently rare... plus, this is horror/urban fantasy, so up his alley, even if I can't stand his writing, lol). I set a very unrealistic daily goal of 5,000 words a day based on my first day of writing, having no idea that even pro writers usually don't go over 3,000. So I adjusted to a minimum goal of 1,000 with an ideal of 5,000 and have been very comfortable with that (I hit my ideal about 85% of the time). Doing this, I'm at 85% of my ultimate goal of 95,000 words (a novel is typically 80K-110K so that seemed like a good middle to aim for and leave room for cutting) with 80,842 words. I'm proud of myself for the first time in... a very long time.

Oh, and something really cool about the book-from-a-dream? I had the dream on the night I ovulated/possibly conceived. So it was an ovulation dream.

So... there's a catch up on me! I'm still around! :D
