I spotted for a long while too when I first got mine...I want to say 4-6 mo's. Now I may spot for a day when I get my "period"...it's more the cleaning and moodiness that gives that away that it's visiting. John knows to watch out when I'm making a batch of brownies while cleaning out odd spots like the pantry and the fridge because I've already cleaned the floor. LOL

I think it will be worth it too - I can deal with a liner for a while. I am just soo ready to stop all of this pain when my cycles starts! LOL
Since you're ahead of me by like 2 months, keep me updated with the spotting. Hopefully it stops soon.

I was so angry with the spotting too because I'm breastfeeding and didn't have a period with Logan for 8 months. I was hoping for the same thing time around. Oh well, we'll see if it comes back on a regular basis or not. And when it did stop for a day or 2 I'd get my hopes up that it would be over and then, nope, it would start up again! Argh. But, I do think it's going to be worth it once my body gets used to it. :)

I got the Mirena put in at 7 weeks PP. I started spotting the next day and spotted basically everyday for the next 5 or so weeks. A couple of times it would stop for a day or 2, then start again. Very annoying even if was just spotting.

I haven't had anything for a couple of weeks now and I'm not sure if I'll have it once a month because I'm breastfeeding or not. But, it is VERY nice to not even have to think about birth control everyday. I love that!

I have the mirena....I spotted a bit the first few months but now I barely get a period. I still get pms though so I know it's "there". My hubby could feel it for a while because they cut my strings too short. Depending on our position (not to be too graphic) he still can on occassion but it's not nearly like it was. I thought I'd have issues w/ ovarian cysts as I had a history with them but nothing yet - knock on wood. It works for me since I can't have the hormones and risk of clotting with the pill cos the stupid growth in my head. Hope that helps!!! If you have any specific questions, fire away! I'm an open book. :-)

If I weren't getting my tubes tied in the hospital after this little one, I would be getting the Mirena.

I am on the Mirena and have not had problems with it. Well I went in for my last check up and she couldn't find the string... but figured it just got moved around. I went in for an ultrasound and it was still in place. So no problems :) Chris does say sometimes he can feel the string, which I'm sure is uncomfortable. And I still spot monthly but nothing like a full blown period. I do still have the pms though. yuck! I really like not having to take the pill daily too! (that is what I was on before the kids)

I am in NC visiting my bff right now. She is researching the Mirena or Paragard for birth control possibilities. I thought I remember some of you having problems with the Mirena. Can you share your experiences?
