I just had my baby girl on May 3rd @ REX & I was seeing Mid-Carolina OBGYN (located in the medical plaza @ REX). I really like most of the doctors there, they're really serious about everything. My delivery/post delivery experience was great with REX (I had emergency C-Section, they really took care of me). They gave me a nice room, & let family members stay in as long as I needed, even gave an extra bed for my husband since i had to stay in for 4 days, food is okay, nurses are excellent.

I recommend Kamm, McKenzie, Hardin, Bass, Smith, etc. They only deliver at Wake Med but they are the BEST!!! Dr. Smith delivered Lacy but I loved all of the physicians I had seen there during my pregnancy. They are in the North Hills area and also have an office near Wake Forest. Good luck!!!

I go to Raleigh OB/GYN - I have been pretty happy there for the most part - the wait time can get ridiculous, however. It is located in the medical plaza at Rex. I really love one Dr. in particular, but knowing my luck, he won't be on call when I deliver :-( So, I have been seeing all the members of the practice, but for my yearly checkups, and anything else I need, I only go see Dr. Segal there. Good luck!

I'm going to deliver at the Women's Birth and Wellness Center in Chapel Hill. I'm a nurse, and I've worked at many of the hospitals in this area, and decided I wanted to go the a different route than having a hospital delivery.

I go to a great OB/GYN. HE is a private practice which I like because I always see him. He also puts you on a schedule so your appointments are always on the same day at the same time which is great. He is very easy to talk to and even has a sense of humor. His name is Dr. Gerald Welch and he is right next to Wake Med in Cary. Which is even better since that is where I will be delivering! Let me know if you need anymore information.

Thanks for the recommendation. That is a really good point. I am still working to transfer to a doc in Raleigh. I'll check Chapel Hill out before I decide.

i recommend deciding where you want to give birth FIRST, then look at OB's. i am so late in my pregnancy, and decided rex was not the option i wanted. now i need to change my OB in order to accomodate WHERE i want to give birth.

i recommend in chapel hill the birthing center. it is run by midwives, and is a great place if you want a medically-uninvasive labor and delivery.

We cosleep, babywear, EBF and plan to for two years, cloth diaper, and no vaccines! I'm getting crunchier by the minute. Ticker is set to bf goal! Two years AT LEAST!

I moved to N. Raleigh about a year ago and am pregnant with my 2nd baby. I had a very difficult time choosing an OB/Gyn, but ended up at Blue Ridge OB, there is an office in North raleigh behind the Kohls off of Falls of Neuse Rd. They have 6 doctors in there and I have met all but one of them and like everyone. the staff is very nice and helpful. they deliver at Rex hospital and I heard that was a good hospital so that is how i began my search, i looked for docs that delivered at Rex. I am 24 weeks. good luck and congrats on your pregnancy. if you have any other questions feel free to send me a message.

Does anyone have any recommendations for an OB/GYN in the Raleigh area? I just moved here a little over a month ago and I am driving almost 2 hours to my old practice b/c I don't have a clue about any how to find one here.
